Was his helmet strap undone before the bike was fully racked?

That was the one hell of a close call. The bike was in the rack but the back wheel still bouncing around a bit due to the speed of it all. A bit too close for comfort. Clearly. Would have loved to have seen them head to head on the blue carpet.

Loved the Com Games Tri today. Great racing, awesome commentary by @Trevbets & @heljinx Not sure I would have given Hayden the penalty. Rule 7.1 athletes must have their helmet securely fastened until after they have placed their bike on the rack. Mega close call for sure. pic.twitter.com/kYE6MT5Jmo

It’s an interesting point, had he raced to the finish and won, he could potentially appeal but with penalties being served during the race we’ll never know so any kind of appeal would be pointless.
Whilst it maintains the purity of the first across the line is the winner, it does mean no resolution to potentially erroneous calls, not saying this is, but if you add 10 seconds to his finish time there’s always the option to remove it again.

whilst I think Alex had him beaten a sprint finish would have been likely by that point and would have been a fitting finish

Hmm I disagree. I think she screwed the pooch when she was so hi so about her funding woes.

Maybe it’s a lack of promotion but that’s what I remember her for mostly. Admittedly I was in Oz in her time

England aren’t very good at Rugby 7’s

But your competitors don’t know what’s happening, unless the officials are cheating, it has to be in the moment and not postponed, athletes in the race influence the race too much for that.

In 6 of the 8 games one of the teams got a big fat egg as a score, not the most competitive
