Not a shorts day that fella :no_good_man:

No knees below 10°

You’re (nearly) a poet

No knees below 10 degrees
Not unless you’re in the trees
Or are quite hardy like Cobbie

Do you know how Gablier sizes? I’m tall and lanky. It’s not Assos-like for tiny people? That gilet looks :yum:

Shorts with gilet for me. Clearly I’m a confused individual. Not a chance on 3/4 length though. I do have some (low) standards.

I think gilets are great for those days when you’re not sure weather a proper winter jersey is needed or not. If I am running on really cold days or one when there is a really cold wind I will wear one then too.

My knees are covered until it is about 15C.

I’ve got a fair few gilets.
Best use for me is those spring/autumn days where it’s cold when you set off, but quickly warms up.
Also, commuting. Freezing on a morning, but seasonably “warm” on the return leg.

I’m not a huge fan of arm warmers - as I like my pocket space for pork pies.
I bought a MAAP long sleeve very thin armed jersey that works in warm weather for those colder mornings :+1:t3:

That rule is just about ok for running, but on the bike, 15C surely :cold_sweat::grinning:

Whaaaaaaat.

Gilet and arm warmers are right up there on my essential list. I’ve got a plethora of arm warmers with different thickness.

If you wait for 15C before wearing shorts, you’d basically be wearing them for about 2 rides a year!

I’m clearly in the minority … 8 pairs of arm warmers, no gilet

I was thinking the same. 15c - you’ll find me in the garden drinking beer celebrating summer :slightly_smiling_face:

About borderline for me as well but I’d have a couple of big tops on, and gloves probably

If you don’t mind me going all Imperial for a moment I’m 5’11", just over 10 stone & about 39" around the chest & I’ve got a M in the one mentioned above. It’s a good fit, not snug. I imagine I would also fit in the S.

There are lots of review for the Galibier items & the more helpful people include sizing info.

The Izoard Pro looks pretty good as well, but I fancied one to throw on at times other than cycling.

I’d say Galibier are pretty standard for cycle kit sizing … one size up from normal clothes but not like Italian kit where a dwarf needs to buy XXL

The best kind of gilet

I need a CCC one to complete the set (unlikely with all the stones malarkey)

Mug someone on the final descent through the trees and get their number to go over the finish line :joy:

They won’t be found for hours and you can be over the border :joy:

Cycled in on the Brompton this morning, pretty cold and the my back is still giving me some grief after S&C the other night.
Got off the bike and it must have been 5 minutes before I could stand up straight.
Now, the Brompton isn’t exactly racy in terms of riding position (although it is the ‘S’ model I’ll have you know) so god only knows what I’d be like if I’d done a session on the turbo/TT bike.
