YOUR FIRST POST AND YOU TELL ME IT IS GOING TO RAIN

(Jokes, by the way)
I know nothing about bike lube. But know I don’t like the wet
it might be sunny. The current forecast on BBC weather is that symbol with all the weather at once
It’s not raining until 11am.
I’ll be done by then.
Does anyone know of any decent places to eat on the sunday? Its my wifes birthday on the same day and i feel bad for making her get up at 4am to essentially take photos of me next to a lake.
Ouch.
I’ve got a date with Gloucester Northbound Services in the M5.
I’ve heard it’s “like” Tebay Services, but I can’t believe it myself.
Nice Sunday roast at Vale of the White Horse (Minety), serves roast until 5:30pm or normal menu until 8pm (about 5km from the lake)
Or you could try Wheatsheaf in Oaksey, but can’t comment on the food quality as not been there in a while (about 3km from the lake).
You like triathlon so you’ll be familiar with the overpriced nature of the place…hahaha!
I would recommend the wild boar sausage rolls from the deli at the back…superb!
Never been as it’s too close to home, but the wife says it’s reassuringly expensive.
I always try and use Moto as I get 20% discount there.
Thanking you kindly.
I’ll also be on the lookout for a black pudding scotch egg and/or pork pie.
I don’t know what I’m more excited about now ![]()
EDIT: The old handlebar ‘tash May make a comeback for this. The mowhawk, sadly, cannot
You’ve had a fabulous year, but you’d throw all of that away, if you could just win this “ race “
And I think, you feel this pressure.
(The look so slow compared to now! I mean, look at Macca or Crowie compared to these)
(In more sensible news; isn’t it pissing down at SOMERFORD Keynes all week?)
They were as fast as modern guys in 89! 8:09 & 8:10. Last year was a freak year.
Oh, yes. I know. I mean they “look” slow.
The running form and bike equipment all makes it not look as quick.
Last year was mainly due to, what do they say, Mr 140lb blue Kona magic man having a lead out train
I guess we’re all just a bit soft compared to Allen and Scott.
ANYWAY…
…back to the 113, I see the weather has perked up
You could try The Bell, Sapperton
As has the wind on my commute this morning.
Yes, I ran an out and back.
Didn’t notice it on the way out, flying through the cruise intervals.
Bloody noticed it on the way back like!
Yeah windy around here today. Hope to take my bike out later fully fitted-out; minus silly helmet. I usually head downhill from the village, and you can get buffeted around a lot at speed, with an 808 and Torhans on it. Need to wear the new suit as well, so it’s christened before Sunday. Doesn’t feel quite as comfy as my Castelli San Remo, mainly because it’s tighter fitting.
Why no silly helmet?
I noticed with my 82 front and dangle down aero front bottle that the wind can really pick that area up
Feeling achey again today
Surface area forward of the steering axis init; and your aero bottle is way out front iirc? I would like to get my Aero 30 closer to the head tube, and have already spent a lot of time carefully melting the plastic to reshape it, but still quite a gap. Don’t want to use a shorter stem for position reasons. Really you want it within 2" of the head tube.
Don’t bother with the tw*t hat in training - what’s the point when I’ve been using it for donkey’s years. It’s nothing new to me (I remember the comeback days
). For the same reason I don’t do full dress rehearsals with nutrition & pre-race routine. It’s locked in.
Is this race getting streamed anywhere?
It’s going to be bigger than Kona
Jorgan, I’ve stuck etap on the TT bike and frankly I’m bricking it, it’s so easy for the batteries or blip box to get nicked in transition or other things, I’m almost considering putting them in my T1 bag!
