Critique my position/bike/thighs

:man_facepalming: Great point. Didn’t notice that. I plan to do it again with dots on my joints.

Good grief that path needs weeding. And leaving a spade right next to the back door to help a burglar lever the door off its hinges isn’t smart

I think that you have lined up front of pedal, not centre, cant remember if that is correct or not.

I was reading recently that an arm angle between 80 and 90 degrees is good, 80 degrees is more aero, but less sustainable, so some fitters recommend 90 for triathlon, however, not sure how Mantis position fits into that rule of thumb.

Heel much better than last picture you sent. Personally it looks like a good starting position, but those dots may help

OK. thanks again for the feedback. After some fairly extensive googling ( word? ) i found out that KOPS doesnt work for TT / Tri position, so i’m not going to worry about that.
I’ll report back with dots stuck to me, and I’ll endevour to weed the patio before the next video.

Duck the patio…
Get a Gardner !
Stick at it!

I’m going to break with a time honoured tradition and spend some serious cash in a top end bike fit with a very fast cyclist.
Once your over 25 kph it’s all about the air.

I am amazed how long its taken someone to follow the true tradition of the position response by combining both essential elements in one post. Chapeau sir, chapeau.

Errr, thank you?? :man_shrugging:

Put that tree in the ground, take those socks off, and when you raise the saddle, raise the pads at least an inch more.

2nd pic is my long course position…drop the front end to its lowest as per the first pic when racing half or less…

I’m beginning to think I need to get the front a bit lower still yet, which probably means a new stem. Its only 80mm, so I may get another cm or two and get a bit further forward while i’m at it.

Colour coordination on point. Claiming bonus points for matching watch strap.

Thats what I did on Shiv, changed from a 75mm 6% drop stem to a 100mm 17% drop stem, made an improvement for HIM, but felt that it was a bit too much at Hamburg.

Good grief, there’s a pirate on here!

Just popping in to remember what a forum looks like after RunnersWorld committed forum suicide a couple of years back… :joy:

Have to say that your bike/kit coordination is sorted. :+1:

Yes, you look high at the front. Need a longer tailed helmet?

Yep… working on a ā€˜turtle shrug’, but my 52yr old neck and shoulders aren’t so keen… as for the helmet, I’m lazy, and when I lose concentration, I drop my head and look at the stem… either I stick with a short tail, or learn to concentrate!
