Everest record gone again

Is Ronan doing another try this year? I don’t know how much more he can find in terms of marginal gains… he talked about getting his three cassette sprockets in the middle to have a straighter and more efficient chain-line. I guess disc brakes and fatter tyres might allow for heavier braking - interesting that Max marked his braking point on the road - I wonder does that point slip further up the road as a rider fatigues and struggles to brake as hard, and as the rim brakes fade/wear, and cables stretch? I suppose you could have a ridiculously light bike made for it too as it’s not subject to UCI rules. I suppose you could wait for ideal weather, wind and air pressure. I went back to my Everest hill for a few climbs a few weeks after and it was like a different climb with the different conditions. Max went out to blitz the record rather than just break it. He could have broken it but maybe didn’t fully respect the difference between a half and full. Be interesting to see him try again!
