This is good advice.
What’s that look like for you Fruity? Use the left alphafly Mon/Thurs/Sat and the right shoe on the other days??
She’ll never know
haha yes as @mw22 points out, it’s important to make sure one shoe is slightly bigger, otherwise you won’t run in a circle and may never return to your starting point
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to touch base as I’ve been quiet due to numerous issues.
Plantar - getting better but its been a slow journey - up to getting in a couple of 5k’s a week now so hopefully will increase that painfree over the coming weeks.
Bursitis - still bad - hurts when I do most things, constant treatment and hoping to be pain free soon, still can’t swim which isn’t really upsetting me
Bike - been out and about on that, have enjoyed not having a strict training routine last 4-6 weeks and have just been out and mixing up between zone 2, hard rides and long weekend rides with my friends which has been nice to be back social.
New addition comes next week so going to be a scaled back training for me which will consist of the below when fully fit:
2 x 10k runs
1 x 60 min swim
3 x indoor rides - probably a mix of Vo2, 1 zwift race and 1 zone two
2 Gym sessions.
I have the T100 in Nov and so hopefully keep a base level whilst all hands to the pump with the newborn and then hit the training hard again in August to get ready.
Finalised next years events schedule:
Normal schedule of local races 2-3 times a month between spring/olympic and half marathons.
Dec - Abu Dhabi Marathon
April - London Marathon
June - Lahti 70.3
August - Copenhagen full
Think 2026 I’m going to try and get in a big cycling gran fondo or event and maybe the Patagonia expedition thingy.
My understanding is these two events in the same year will give me a viking tour special medal that Ironman do? Anyone know one done this?
Anyway, hope everyone is well and gearing up for your season which is my off season so look forward to living vicariously through all your races
Hey everyone,
Updating on here, been quite whilst injurie heal and new baby settles in.
Still on course for T100 and have 2 more events that I have got into this month.
London Marathon 2025 - will be running for the make a wish foundation
Challenge Roth - 2025 - got in via the pre reg today and just waiting on the email with the code for full registration.
Logistics for Roth look an absolute nightmare!!! But everything I see makes me believe it will all be worth it.
golf to Roth in a little over a year is very impressive, good luck
Thank you. Impressive/stupid I think
Just thought I’d try and role my marathon fitness from April into the full distance Tri
I’m still alive more injuries than events unfortunately.
Had my should operated on 6th Oct and Elbow operated on 13th of October, also got had xrays and MRI’s on my right foot and ankle - to quote the doctor - your ankle and foot are a mess and look like a 70 year olds!!!
Had a stress fracture of 2nd, 3rd and 5th metatarsal and the PF and Achilles tendonitis - been having physio to help, got a running coach who has done analysis and we are working through a S&C and mobility routine to get me back to full health.
Had Oct-now off running so just starting the training for the london marathon so going to be a bit tougher than hoped but all will be good hopefully.
Been getting some good time in the saddle and got my longest ever ride in of 150k last week and will do 130kish tomorrow so that’s all on course for roth!
Anways - wanted to let people know I had not returned to the golf and magners
Silver lining on all the injuries is that I really dialled in the nutrition whilst I wasn’t training and I’m down from 112 to 103kg
Good luck.
Love the detailing of numerous horrific injuries and then straight into your marathon and IM training!!
Was wondering how you were getting on.
112 to 103 is good going, bet your metatarsals plantar fascia and Achilles are thanking you for that already
Thing I love about Tri, a knackered ankle is the triathlon God’s way of saying work on your swimming; a shoulder operation and an elbow operation means ride your bike but don’t fall off etc etc
Weather’s great right now eh?
Will be watching Good luck
Yes the weather is Perfect - well actually it’s too cold in the mornings now as I am super soft after being in the desert for too long! 12 degrees had me breaking out the thermal cycling gear!!!
Fog and 14C here in Doha this morning. Not at all nice to ride in, but thankfully the landcruisers are all terrrified of it too & crawl along with their hazards on. Not sure everyone knows about the fog lights. 23C and sunny now for the ride home though, I’ll take that.
Yeah it poses an issue on the long ride as it heats up pretty quickly doesnt it
ummm what is this long ride you speak of? Oh yeah, you’re doing Roth…
This should be a tshirt and meme.
