Froome down

Yep. Even Brailsford was out handing food/bottles out.

And it was his third back to back to back grand tour win. Its hardly like he totally capitulated at the subsequent Tour either! He still finished on the podium

As others have said, the Giro stage was pre determined, and was also the stage with the SIS beta fuel. Given how that stuff is apparently akin to Maurten, and how I’ve responded to the latter, I can see how it would make a difference if other teams were still reliant on generic nutrition. It was certainly described as only Sky having access to that product within the SIS teams

watched that this morning - WOW!
What a stage and how he talks about being full before the stage and having to continue to eat, then feeling empty after it.

Good video, thanks.

If Yates hadn’t blown up, the Giro would have been his.

I’d like to see Yates at Ineos but doubt it will happen. Too many leaders.

It was a pretty spectacular blow up though, wasn’t it close to half an hour?

Haha, if only i’d not blown up on run run i’d have got to Kona.

Edit: Multiple times

It was.

Rode too hard the first 2 weeks, had nothing left week 3. Got to wonder about the DS and coaching, it’s not the first time.

So much potential to do more than he has.

But then he won the Vuelta by riding defensively the whole way. I’m not sure he really thought he could win the Giro, so just attacked from the start.

He needs a bit of reigning in as he proved at the Vuelta.

Needs a move this year
