I think that is what I will miss, I only really watch the big tours.
Doesn’t seem to be a plan for the existing docs, I hope they find a home.

IOW twice the price of GCN+ but also with adverts. I’d have paid more to keep it on GCN+ and ad-free, but I’m out.
I see I can go ad-free with Discovery+ Premium at £30/month

I’ve read elsewhere that there aren’t ads in the cycling coverage on Discovery+

I get D+ “free” with Sky, never noticed ads with it before, but don’t put it on much. Also on phone (EE) get TNT through D+ (is that the premium?) as my “Inclusive Extra”
I’ve had a Europsort sub which got transferred to Discovery+ last year I think. Adverts is a real mixed bag, nearly certain the live cycling has them - although I don’t watch that much of it. The highlights shows are really hard to navigate through the catch-up option, seems they release a Eurosport version with ads and a GCN version without - even though the coverage is the same.
Presumably they will just release the advert version from now. Must remember to cancel, really don’t watch enough. The 5min highlights reels on YouTube are enough to catch-up on most things.

I was just looking at that. I renewed in August for the year via the pple store and it’s still showing
as an active subscription. I’ll wait till after xmas then contact apple if I don’t her anything. I seen people on twitter who paid by card direct have got the refunds.

I had an email yesterday telling me I was getting a £30-ish refund…you haven’t got stuff lurking in your spam have you?

Same here. Refund email yesterday. A few people have got an email saying they won’t be refunded as they paid through Google Pay (?). GCN have said everyone will be refunded, however they paid.
I’ve never had Sky/Discovery but it all strikes me as pretty expensive; certainly when you have all the other services with their own stuff (Netflix/Prime etc). I think the aforementioned are the only 2 services we subscribe to now; well that and YT Premium on my phone contract.
They have NBA on Sky, but tbh NBA is crap to watch in the current era; compared to FIBA games which are much more physical/scrappy like the old NBA we all remember fondly.

GCN+ was the only thing I subscribed to and it was far cheaper than Netflix. Plenty enough other stuff to watch on iPlayer etc

Just a quick one for any Sky subscribers who may not be aware:
“discovery+ Standard is now available at no extra cost for Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers.”
I’ve not tried it yet but will give it a go before the 31st.

Its always been free to people on the service that includes Discovery Channel. You don’t get the TNT Sports content though (football etc), that’s still BT sports price extra, so wouldn’t surprise me if the cycling suddenly went onto the TNT sports area after a while as its odd that some sport is D+ others TNT

It was originally the on demand Discovery content, hence being free. Same as Paramount + and Disney + as well, depending on package.
No doubt it will become a ln “optional extra” at some point if popular
