Not heard anything on the TO front and I suspect whatever they have decided they will keep quiet until closer to the events. Weather will again be an important factor
Bucko guided for him a few years back didn’t he? I remember him telling us in Luffbra about his first time and how difficult it was, not just a case of running with someone as fast as you can, but giving instructions whilst trying to run yourself.
He did. He has Luke Pollard as his guide now.
He also has Jack Hutchens as a reserve guide & they’ve raced together a few times but yeah, Luke’s the main man.
Jack was Dave’s guide at Swansea as Luke was off doing a 70:3 (maybe full IM) somewhere that weekend. Don’t think Dave has raced much with Jack and that was noticeable at Swansea when they had to do a bit of a catch up on the run to the US pair.
if you meant me, then no extra info…i watched her swim (very well) at SL with Jack and she emailed after to say hi…i know her from coach development…
Just watching the para-swimming - S2 100m backstroke - incredibly humbling when you see what these guys can do with their severe disabilities. In awe.
I did some video analysis on some of out para-triathletes…am blown away by what they can do…
I coached a young girl called Charlie Hyde at ESS in 2021 for a couple of sessions, was great coach dev opportunity. Her ultimate goal was Paris but said it may be a bit too soon, she wasn’t selected this time but is on the performance potential programme. She had legs but no use of them, so had to adapt the stroke to carry two “dead weights”. Anyone who has swam with bands may in someway understand the difficulty of that, but with no control you also have drag issues if they separate etc. I was in awe. Trunk strength was unreal. Lovely kid as well, new coach she didn’t know but so chatty and open when I questioned her on things, which is unusual for most teens (although girls are generally more chatty than boys)
The Brazilian S2 guy who won his 100m heat has no arms and short legs so his “backstroke” was a dolphin kick - for 100m! Amazing core strength to do that.
Revised schedule for paratri - all events will now happen on Sun 1st rather than spread over 1st and 2nd but contingency days are 2nd/3rd.
“The latest weather forecast provided by Météo France indicates high level of uncertainty for the upcoming days, which could have an impact on the conditions of the Seine. The course of the swim remains unchanged.”

not had much chance to get into things yet…anyone following? Good racing so far?
Bits and pieces, cycling off to a good start.
thanks…hope to catch up tomoz…
Racing is back to tomorrow. Really feeling sorry for the athletes now
Poor water quality is the reason
“ The latest water quality tests show a substantial decrease on the water quality in the river, after a release of water upstream the competition venue following the rain episodes the last two days. As a result of the releases, the water quality at the competition venue onSunday, September 1, is considered not suitable for swimming. It has been decided to schedule all 11 Para triathlon medal events on 2 September. This is subject to the forthcoming water tests complying with the established World Triathlon thresholds for swim”
Pretty grim…
If the TO is who i think it is…i wonder if there will now be a battle of wills over whether it goes ahead…
