“The rain that has fallen on Paris over the last 24 hours is likely to impact the quality of the water in the Seine over the next 24 to 36 hours,” a Paris spokesperson said. “Depending on current water quality levels and the conditions expected over the next 24 hours, it is possible that the familiarisation scheduled for Sunday 28 July at 8am may be cancelled. The decision will be taken at the daily situation meeting at 4am on 28 July.
“We are nonetheless confident in our ability to organise the events as planned from 30 July. Given the weather forecast for the next 48 hours, we expect the water quality to return to below limits within the next 24 to 36 hours.”
This mornings water quality update from protrinews on instagram.
Sunday’s swim familiarization has been cancelled due to water quality. Current readings of E.coli at 1120 units per 100mL. The limit to hold the triathlon is at 900 units per 100 mL. There is another swim familiarization on Monday with hopes the tests being taken around 4 am each day. Water current was measured as well at 1m/s.
It’s what we said all along. They needed no rain to get that water quality in the “ok” region. They’ve now had a day of heavy rain - it’s going to be a tough ask. They’ll fudge it I’m sure.
I’ve only seen the BBC show two boxing bouts so far over the last couple of days. Now I know this is standard Olympics armchair refereeing, but the scoring seems crazy. In both cases GB lost despite (in my clearly unbiased opinion!) being clearly the better fighter. In the latest one the other lady got a points deduction in the final round, into which they went in tied, yet still won having landed less shots
Agree, I’ll happily bow to the wisdom of @Mungo2 or anyone else whi has a vague idea, but last night’s female ?lightweight called Charlie? Seemed very harsh to lose to the Turkish woman.
