Agreed, and I’m far from a boxing aficionado, and I know Amateur and Pro are different sports, but I can generally call a tight pro fight/round. I have to be honest, I preferred the old live scoring system that used to be used in the Amateur ranks. You knew where things stood, and cornermen could pass that information on. Accumulating points per decent shot was much more objective (even if what counts as a point scoring shot is ultimately subjective) than a 10-9 round score

Also saw the match which went to the Turkish lady - couldn’t see how she had won from my amateur perspective - she was constantly the one coming forward
Listened to Radio 5 on the way back from my run for the commentary on the match where the British lady lost to the Pole - Steve Bunce was outraged that she lost

Thae contingency venue is for marathon swim, the rowing tank, but think it was FB said they cant move the tri. Dates clash with rowing anyway.

A day or two delay might save them this week. Temps going through the roof Tuesday/wednesday.
Will mess up other plans - there’s a plan for an all night “triathlon party” at Cafe Oz ahead of the women’s race

I think it said on tri247 that the backup day is Friday for both races. I thought the races had a potential for a one day delay but if it’s Friday then hopefully a few days of sunshine will sort the water quality out.

Rowing runs through to Sunday and then they convert the course for the sprint canoe races in the 2nd week of the Games.
There might be a spare day to fit the marathon swim in but the Tri races too

The Discovery+ package, can we cancel it after one month? The wording seems funny like you have to go to the end of the year?
A bit disappointed with BBC to not be able to watch women’s 100m butterfly even on iPlayer, skipped to the hockey as there were no GB women.
ETA: especially if they don’t show the women’s 100m breastroke semi-finals which should have been at 20:10

That was a change at the last Olympics I think, as the rules were changed to allow them to commercialise the coverage, and free to air broadcasters only get a select amount of feeds. Unless of course they wanted to pay the commercial rates.
I get discovery+ for free via my tnt subscription with Sky, but to be honest I find the app is a bit crap (especially the inbuilt apps on our tvs). Really hard to find what you want to watch, even when you know what it is

It’s frustrating that they’ve been allowed to do this. But hardly surprising.

He’s undoubtedly the best British swimmer ever.
He’s arguably one of the best swimmers ever worldwide, in terms of dominance at one event (compared to multi-eventers like Phelps).
So I understand it, but yeah have never really liked the love-in.
