Really? I think it’s one of the best. I’ve heard it so many many times watching Vale, Max et al it feels like home

The BBC coverage is awful - they all sound bored. Yapping on for hours about nothing.
Absolute filler.

Thanks, I’ll check. I just went for the main stream with a photo of a bike!

I caught a bit of the MTB commentary on Radio 5 Live yesterday. Their expert summariser for the race was Vicky Pendleton :man_shrugging:

Was their selection brief “a woman who’s raced bikes”? The main commentator kept asking her questions about tactics and tyres and stuff that as a track sprinter she would have no first hand knowledge of

No swim familiarisation today either. This from protrinews……

protrinews - Breaking News: Monday’s swim familiarization has now also been cancelled due to water quality.

“Tests carried out in the Seine have shown improved water quality levels since the last test however still over the limit. Given the weather forecast for the next 36 hours, we are confident that water quality will return to below limits prior to the start of the triathlon competitions.”

The E.coli limits to hold the triathlon is at 900 units per 100 mL. Water current has increased and measured at 1.2 m/s.

Decisions regarding the first day of competition, Men’s race, will take place at 3:30 am CEST on July 30th during the daily situation meeting.

Keep those fingers crossed and nose clips and google straps tight!

I started with BBC last night but switched to D+ because of all the flag-shagging. The trigger was Rebecca Adlington saying “Peaty has literally changed history”

D+ give you the video from the event as it happens without adding their own backstory clips and punditry.

It wasn’t any better on the tv. You’ll be amazed to learn that road tyres are ‘pumped up hard’ and mtb tyres are not.

Probably just the bikes part tbh. A guy from Uni on my course has represented GB in trampolining a number of times. He now commentates from what I’ve seen. He posted on social media just before the games that the BBC couldnt take him on at they “only have a select number of passes” and therefore need to double up the gymnast commentators for trampoline

She’s annoying AF. She kept saying ‘I can’t stop crying, it’s his little boy’.
People have kids, stop crying and do your bloody job.

All that money spent on the same old cronies on constant global jollies.

Yup!!
Wheeling out MJ for the track events

It’s naff. Like a Question of Sport, Alan Shearer/Hansen, Ant & Dec and all of those tired “comedy” panel shows with the same boring guests each week.

TV is just tosh now. And the BBC is jingoistic, bias, brown nosing. Wheel out Fiona Bruce as The White Saviour and everything will be right

Swimming, 4IM just showed what a different class Leon is in. It was like an Open where the good kid who hasnt raced for 2 years is put in the baby heat.

100Br was a decent race guy who won was literally on the timing of his recovery into finish to perfection. Slow start cost Peaty as he always tires last 10m.

Slow pool though, wont be many WRs over the next few days.
