And was sitting very close to Leon in the holding area. That should be interesting…
Is the swimming on BBC tonight?
Or just this nonsense of spinning people and landing on mats?
Swimming is on now
or Adlington, Foster and Balding wibbling on waiting for action to start
That 200m Free finish was so close! Feel for Duncan Scott as he came through on the last 50m and just lost it on the touch.
Great silver for Richards though.
Another gold missed by 0.02. Pretty much both lost on slightly imperfect touches, versus perfectly timed touches.
And back to back tight 4ths in the 400IM for both men and women, over the last couple of evenings. The swim medals tally could be so much better already.
Same every Olympics. They will have an inquest, and change nothing ![]()
Its been said for years, our trials are 2 months too early!
Just watched the poor highlights of Pidcock on iPlayer, French weren’t happy ![]()
Come on Yorkshire ![]()
Don’t you fuckin’ start

How calm was Pidcock with that rather slow wheel change. Impressive.
BBC showing minimal highlights of the gold medals then endless crap where we didn’t even win an insignificant match
Poor form if true, risking his health (and others). What happened to “swimming doesnt define my life anymore” and his new found religious beliefs.
Pretty much both lost on slightly imperfect touches, versus perfectly timed touches.
Distance per stroke @Hammerer…distance per stroke…
but that’s in a different pool i believe
Ponds Forge is 3m, LAC is 3 but does have raisable floors (The diving well does as does the training pool, but only ever seen comp pool at 3m)
Sandwell has 3 moveable floors, but i believe is 3m in 50m comp mode (will find out in September if we get into “Swim with the Stars”)
Sheffield is arguably still the UKs fastest pool, but that could also be as its for national comps and kids swim to the occasion.

Havent seen the 200 but Peaty’s was just bad luck, maybe just a slightly worse turn, or didnt catch one stroke quite as well, or slight miskick, so he was in full streamline before the wall not at the wall and glided in about 50cm. He should have realised approaching but its fine margins in the sprints.
Peaty woild never make a how to swim breastroke manual
which makes his achievements all the more brilliant. Found his own style that works for him, and Mel was clever enough to not mess with it too much. Breaststroke was always called “The Coaches Stroke” as it really is different for all.

Nats this weekend…
British Swimming were last week, English coming up started today. Have 3 kids in those from tomorrow morning. Girl 16yr free (2,4,8,15) and two older girls , one doing 2Bf/Bk/FS the other doing 2Bk.
Kid who went Mount Kelly was at proper nats/olympic trials in April at LAC but only swam a 2:12 for 200Fly. Hes up Friday i think.
Well… he only tested after the race… it’s one of those things

Haughey's career Olympic earnings surpassed $836,000 USD as the 26-year-old also picked up a pair of silver medals in Tokyo that were worth $322,000 apiece.

Interesting breakdown of prize money, and the eye watering profit made by the IOC that athletes don’t see. Wonder where that $7.6billion goes ![]()
