We’re down on the south coast; it’s going to be toasty.

TBF the live stream missed some of the key moments as they scanned back down the field. How Pidcock got back in front originally was posted in a twitter link further up this thread. And while showing replay of the final move they nearly missed him crossing the line!

4 x 200 was a heat and a half!

As much as I’m for cleaning up the river I’m sure they’d have got a better legacy spending that billion euros on pools or other facilities around the country.

Paris has more 50m pools than the whole of the UK, but yes certainly countrywide, but that’s the argument for all “legacys”. London decided that one Olympic pool and running stadium was enough as London is very small, even though that 1 running venue is way too big and used all year for football, baseball, rugby, concerts and monster trucks FFS (and thast not even mentioning the lack of infra north of watford)

Am I right in thinking that the facility that they’re holding the diving in is a new competition-standard pool that they’ve built for the games but they’re not even using it for the swimming?

It appears so, to add a new facility to a poorer suburb by the looks of it (next to Stade de France). Does make the decision to host the swimming at a temporary venue baffling!

Presumably that’s where they’re holding the synchronised swimming?

I guess you’re never going to build a permanent 15,000 seat swimming venue, so you either need a load of temporary seating like they did at London or you build a temporary pool within an existing arena?

I don’t know much about pools but I want to kill a kitten every time a pommie calls it the ‘akwatic’ centre. :hear_no_evil:

The new 2,500 seat aquatics venue is hosting: Waterpolo, Syncro, Diving

The temporary swimming venue is a 15,000 seater

well that’s what it is

5000 for the Games being reduced after. im sure they could have designed it to have more temporary seats and saved a few quid.

Still LA is going larger, 40k in the football stadium

ignore the clueless commenter like hes the first to find out rivers flow less near the banks, but the videos bring the point again, how inappropriate a tidal river is for a swim. The swim could destroy a weak swimmer, so putting on my sloggers conspiracy hat, was this done to eliminate Blu, Yee and Wilde before the race has hit dry land

Hadn’t even thought about the OW swim events; are they in the cesspool too? That would be embarrassing.
