The female climber from Slovenia (?) looks to be in a league of her own in bouldering again this time getting most ‘tops’ in a single attempt. I recall watching her in Tokyo and she also seemed to be at a higher level than others but will see what the final problems look like…

Janja Garnbret
She’s consistently been the best female climber for a very long time now. Shouldn’t be able to flash olympic competition boulders but she does. Great lead climber too

Just watched the 1500m, to me it looked like Kerr ran a perfect race, got a PB as well.
If Ingabritsen hadn’t allowed Hocker up the inside, Kerr would have won.

The way Hocker was closing, I think he would have round around Ingabritsen anyway. You can’t win a race by hoping someone blocks somebody else.
I think they were both so self absorbed with beating each other that Hocker thought ‘I’ll have some of that’

That’s my point, having seen the comments and BBC headline, I just don’t see that in the race.
Ingebritsen goes too hard from too far out but you can’t let him go, as Cram should know from his own exploits.
Kerr runs a savvy race IMO. As Hocker comes level with him they run side by side for a few meters and then Hocker is able to pull away in the final strides.
I guess the question is, what else could Kerr have done?

I thought Kerr was too wide all race and must have ran further. Don’t think the yank moved off the inside line all race?
At that pace a few extra metres would add up?
