I see Hamburg is the Euro Championship next year, on 2 June. That’s quite early for northern Europe. I always like them to be July, so we have enough decent weather for the build up, and get a HIM in, with time to recover/train in between.

Will it be a qualifier for Kona next year? I’m guessing it’ll miss the cutoff

1st Sep is cut-off for Kona Qualifiers iirc.

Kona is also late next year, think October 24th rather than usual second Saturday. Not sure why tbh.

It’ll be a weird field for a Euro Champs. The top pro women wont race it as they have Nice 2/3 weeks later, can’t think too many MPRO’s will want to race deep that late in the season either.

Swimstart 06:45-07:00 cut off at 37.5km is 21:15
They’re calling it a 15hr total cutoff. Hmm. Best get in the swim early. Hope I don’t have any problems.

It’s always been a 15h cutoff in Frankfurt; plenty of time for anyone who’s trained. Especially in those moderate conditions

I remember my 2010 Frankfurt. Non wetsuit swim, 5k extra on bike due to roadworks, 38 deg run. Utter meltdown from the untrained pirates who missed the 15hour cut off….

One year they ACTUALLY had rain & it was cold; was that 2011?

Definitely happened in 2016 as well, not torrential but was wet at the end of the bike and the tracks in the city were terrifying
