here is a question if my entry is transfered to 2021 ( which does not work for me) can i cancel my entry within the 50% refund perod as apposed to the insult of 25% on offer now ??

Its also postponed… both terms used in the same statement!. They’ve been vague and evasive so far.
Regardless of the language its cancelled. The next one happens on the date that 2021 would have happened anyway. If was happening in October it would be a postponement.
Interesting that they are offering a move to Vichy. I know that’s in August and maybe everything will be returning to normal by then, but maybe it wont. Wuhan have only just started to re open stuff nearly 3 months after it started. Europe is much further back than that and hasn’t got it anywhere near under control. Seems overly confident that all will be well in France in 5 months time.

well got my email 25% refund for 2020 race on its way , not sure if will ever get back to do the race in future years

Strong wind , sun and clear blue sky in SW England this morning. Could almost be Lanza.
Webcam on PDC beach looks like a flatish sea and trees not moving ,lures you into false sense
Flat and calm sea, 34kmh wind from the north, reducing through the day, according to swim Lanzarote Facebook video…looks/sounds ideal
Bet it’s not hot either!
12 months ago dragging my sorry fat ass up and down that sea front, after a long hot bike ride!

It’s been on my wish list for ever & I’m really tempted to make 2021 the year. This whole virus thing has given me a new perspective, seize the day etc

When are they opening 2021 registration?
have they set a date for 2020 people to agree to defer or refund or swap do you know, would guess it’ll need to be after that date
I saw a photo of the medal from what looked like last year. The wording on the ribbon was along the lines of “the toughest Ironman”.
Tougher than Wales? Or Bolton 2019? Never done Lanza but (obviously) I would expect it to be hot and with a good road surface and a flat run. I’d find the likely inclement colder weather (Wales) tougher than the heat of Lanzarote I think… anyone done both/all three?
It all depends…I’ve done Lanza twice and Wales twice. Both are challenging. I find the heat hard and so struggle at Lanza on the run when it can very very hot. But equally in 2014 at Wales the sea was kinda interesting and of course the weather can be crap. The wind in Lanza can also vary dramatically from one year to the next…so an ‘easy’ race one year and not so the next! The hardest race I have done by a long shot is Embrunman…it makes both Lanza and Wales seem relatively easy!
