Hence my solution: Gun Time +01:00:00 Release The Sharks.
Yeah, I’d agree. It’s not like 70.3 World’s or Kona where at least everyone there should be capable swimmers.
The bike course changed last year, which is what people are referring to.
No longer has the tour of the island feel, out and backs I cant abide. Sure it’s probably still a good ride, I’m stuck in my ways.
probably not
I hope no one from here is in Lanza right now or planning on going in the next few days -
going out end of next week
I follow someone on IG who is out there now foung some training. Shes had to cut some rides out and swap runs for the treadmill because it’s so bad.
The people who run the place I’ve stayed at for camps also said they have had to hoover it off the outside tables 3 times yesterday.
I’m off there on Saturday, hopefully the weather will have changed
Apparently I am also irresposible flying anywhere and may contract and infect everyone with Corona Virus
Nuke the site from orbit, its the only way to be sure.
Enjoy the training first though.
Epic pop culture film quoting. @Jorgan will be proud.
wish this corona virus would go away
due to fly out a week on saturday
I am flying on Saturday. So far no reports in Lanzarote. I think I am more at risk at work, we have a big office in Milan, and large number of people in our HQ in Zurich commute from Milan, although we have had a travel ban for 2 weeks, so no one travelling to and from Italy. There doesn’t seem to be any panic in Switzerland yet, and think that there is only one reported case, close to Italian border
yes not sure of how much of it is media hype , but more countries seem to be getting very twitchy
Well, it would be easy to just be blasé about it, but that’s how this stuff spreads…when people or organisations think 'it won’t affect us’ and travel anyway
Does seem to be an awful lot of media hype about it. Is it any worse than the flu? Or am I being a blasé?
I somewhat feel that he same. But I think it’s the mortality rate. The flu is something like 0.5% from what I’ve read, whereas this is 2.5-3%. Thats quite a lot higher, even if low risk generally. And is does seem to be flu like where the most at risk are the elderly and those generally more susceptible
What I thought. Perhaps it spreads more easily. Seems to be a lot of panic. If you are vulnerable I can understand the worry but I’ve heard fit young healthy people getting their knickers in a twist about it.
Anyone with elderly rich relatives might want a nice trip to Lake Garda about now…
I wonder how much of that is down to the % of cases actually reported? There’s probably people with the symptoms who just assume they’ve got the flu and people who don’t want to report that they’ve got it to avoid being stuck in quarantine etc.
The death rate is not really known, one of the issues is that for many people, the virus is very mild, so they do not go to the doctor, and sometimes do not even know that they are unwell, so the infection rate is higher than reported, and the death rate is lower, this is why the WHO is reporting 1% not the higher numbers that @stenard claims above
@Adam are you being blasé? It’s undoubtedly more serious than flu, especially for some people
@jorgan I think that I probably will effect us. Even if the Pharma companies develop a Vaccine before next winter, I think that supplies will be limited, the elderly, at risk and critical workers will be the prioity, people like us, who are in low risk categories will probably be left to fend for ourselves
