“ The first male and first female athlete to finish on the podium in the following races, who is NOT already a current professional/elite athlete, providing they
are within 4.0% of the overall male or female winner
Outlaw Half, Nottingham – Sunday 16th May 2021
PTO supported event at Dorney Triathlon, Eton – 13th June 2021…”

Josh Lewis won Outlaw Half in 3:55, making the 4% time 4:04.
Which is all of the Top 10 males.
Only the top two females could race FPRO…

…then Dorney is mental :rofl::see_no_evil:

Chin up pal.

It’s only a matter of time before that training brings a brill race result.

You’ve done it before and you’ll do it again.

Scots - are you coming to IMUK now?

“ A ban on non-essential travel to the Blackburn with Darwen local authority area will remain in place for at least another week. “

Maybe you can do a different bike route 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 :see_no_evil:

BBC reporting that the Scottish travel ban ends at midnight tonight.

Yes, but they’re still barred from Blackburn-with-Darwen, which is the upper half of the loop :see_no_evil:

Yeah but you’re travelling to Bolton, the bike course could go anywhere how would you know?

Touché :person_fencing:

Go for it @Mungo2, you’ve got this… oh sorry, wrong forum

That’s really shit, and I am so sorry. There will always be another Ironman, but who knows what damage you may do racing this weekend (You can always race without the swim). You know your body and how it is recovering. I did race once with a cracked rib, painkillers worked a treat, if that was the extent of your injury you may be OK, however, I would get some professional advice first.

Really hope Saturday goes well for you.

It’s crap … not 100% but I could breast stroke the swim in 2:10 ish

6:30 bike … and walk the marathon … but not sure I want to or what damage id do ?!

It’s healing but it’s shit slow…!

See what the next few days bring

Walking any IM marathon in a pissed off state is no fun at all, definitely wouldn’t recommend it in any way

I get that…!

But if it was the plan from the start … ?!

Would that make it any better?

I don’t know the answer to that question.

really not too sure, it was thrust upon me and a loooong way from the plan.

I guess if you set your mind to get inside the swim cut-off which with it being a two-lapper so you can gauge pace and with you being experienced at the distance it should be do-able and then hit the bike hard by the time you hit T2 you’ve practically won your race, you then just do what you have to do to get home.

Last time there was also another wave, think they were military veterans? who started same time as the AG but 100m ahead from a water start rather than the shore. Don’t know the rationale but it just meant they got swamped :face_with_head_bandage:

Hardly experienced at the longer distance, but should be around 12? Hours on that course, just under two years ago, I’ve lost a touch but the bike is faster, leaves me 4:59 hours spare…!!
I’ll see how the swimming looks Thursday morning…
