I think the council are giving them the squeeze, one thing to note there has been no noise from the Brownlee brothers and I doubt there will be. If IM do not pay then the Brownlee brothers will not be promoting the event. Especially when the Leeds is organised by them

That is a good observation which I think has probably passed most of use by. It has me. It seems to be an assumption they will be in some how be involved, and maybe they will, but only if IM come knocking, maybe?

Plus, the Brownlee foundation has arranged a closed roads sprint in Leeds later this year, I know it’s a different audience but I doubt they’ll want to impact that.
They might get on board at some point but only if Ironman pays them.

I love Yorkshire, but if I ever decided to do another IM there’s nothing about this race that would make me choose it over another trip to Lanza

I was thinking that I would probably ride the bike course at some point but not sure I can be bothered with that route. Definitely won’t bother with the run course, I am surprised that they didn’t use more of the park and run around Waterloo lake. Still would have to use some of that suburban area but would have been a bit nicer I reckon.

I am glad I had entered CPH before this was announced as I may well have been entered and been disappointed. Once the WTS races stopped going into town I didn’t even bother spectating in person as getting there to do that is a right PITA. Not sure I will go up for this.
