Kona 25

I haven’t watched her YT clips in ages but what happened to her at T100?

You mean, like, at all?

@pacha wrote a post a while back now explaining it :+1:

The idiom was tongue in cheek :peach:

I’m not sure how else I can explain it? I apologise for wasting the court’s time.

That’s some serious tri-geekery. If the winner finishes in 8h52 I’ll buy him/ her a pint (the geek, not the winner)

If Haug is within 10 minutes off the bike, can’t see anyone staying away

The cheat sheet is from Thorsten at trirating.com (Nice & Kona 2024 – TriRating) - funnily enough on the IMTalk podcast whenever they talk about him they call him Thorsten the Geek.

LCB not racing tomorrow. protrinews

Breaking news :rotating_light: :bangbang: The defending champion. OUT with a Grade 1 Muscle Strain.

This is the first time since Chrissy Wellington in 2012 that the defending champion will not start the race.

Your observations up a few posts were quite astute mate. :+1:t2:

There is something a bit foreboding about the series of mishaps this year. I hope she can get strong again. Is that her season essentially done then?

Hope for a Kat win, and Els Visser to podium. Both might be a bit too much of a stretch though

I think she still contractually needs to do something for the PTO series - maybe some commentary if she can’t compete. The 70.3 worlds in New Zealand just before Christmas I think is also on the race list.

I think at least one of the German’s on the podium and possibly two? But haven’t followed the form so much.

Can’t decide whether Kat has raced too much or got it right but hope she’ll be on there somewhere.

There were rumours, hence why I thought even if she started she’d DNF.

Shame.

Haug’s to lose I reckon. But would love to see Kat take the win.

Good call @Chriswim - I’d be really happy to see Els Visser on the podium.

Annoyingly I couldn’t remember his name when I saw his at the Frankfurt after party

Normal work day here, been at it for an hour already, will dip in between punters :+1:

Shame no LCB

I guess this is the thread (the thread title would be much better with “24” in the title).

As for the pro swim start, yeah that current really took them over the line and they failed to get the camera right at the start. But this is to be expected right!

For those just tuning in, there was apparently a bit of a storm yesterday and this brought the water temp down and it’s a wetsuit swim today. The sea looks “rolling” - a bit like Kona does sometimes (but there’s more chop on the water than just a rolling sea/ocean).

Yeah there’s a fair bit of movement in the sea.

Kat M with the lead swimmers. If she gets out with Langridge they could make some waves on the bike.
