I’m not sure form across the field is well known, I’d hedge toward Phillip given Hamburg, when was the last Ironman LCB did? She seems fit so could run away with it although I disagree on leading the swim, she hasn’t done that in recent years iirc. (Edit don’t know where I got that idea from, must’ve been a single shorter course race)

Had a scan of the rest of the field don’t think there are any dark horses.

What about the young Norwegian lady Solveig something I think her name was. Outsider for a top 5 maybe.

I’m thinking that Kat Matthews will do it this year.

Lovseth? I was just about to suggest her too.

She’s got some good IM run pedigree I believe. Yup, 2:46 marathons at both Lake Placid and Hamburg this year.

My money’s on anyone who’s done a training camp in the UAE.

Yesterday was the “practice” swim race which I believe shortened due to currents (edit: I think lack of enough swim safety). Lucy swimming well :+1:

Results here.

That 14th place can’t be right can it? A 60-65yo woman beating a whole bunch of pros!!

I saw Jodoe Stimpson in the results. Is she racing or commentating?

That 60-64 yr old is a bloke - it’s a mixed gender swim

From Instagram I think Jodie has been training with Danielle Lewis and is out to support her. Jodie I think lives in the US now.

Is that a printing mistake then because it says f60-65?

No - you’re right and I’m wrong. I misinterpreted it so Jackie is female.

Shouldn’t he have been a Nice then?
