I know he had a bad effect on pro cycling, but I think interest in Lance resulted in an increase in leisure road cycling in the English-speaking world.

I think that’s why he fascinated everyone - he was an extremely talented, driven youngster and doped to get in the mix with everyone else. What is so despicable is the way he treated former team mates et al to get to where he wanted to go. He ruined people’s lives and still refuses to apologise in some instances. I agree, fascinating but then so are many psychopaths and that he most probably is. It was his vanity that got him in the end - one last job. That pushed Mormon fella over the edge and he ratted him out real good. Game over.

Wasn’t the final straw that Lance basically snubbed him during his (Lance’s) comeback, when Landis asked for a second chance and a place on Lance’s team (Radio Shack?).

I’m not even sure it was a comeback, I think he just wanted any job on the team after supporting Lance in the past and he wouldn’t touch him.
