New National Park for NE Wales

Been following this for a while as it directly affects me (and @Doonhamer).

The BBC picked up on it today:
Wales' new national park: Plan to create country's fourth - BBC News (nice pic of Moel y Gaer hill fort in the article).

There’s a better map from an article from a couple of months ago:

New park will include the Halkyns, Hope Mountain, Ceiriog Valley, Berwyns and Vyrnwy area.

Exciting :star_struck:

NIMBYs will be going mental about new planning restrictions!

This is true, although there’s not really much in the way of infrastructure in the new area. It doesn’t add any new towns (Ruthin, Denbigh, Prestatyn & Rhyl all sit outside. Corwen and Chirk also look to be outside although less clear.
Really it’s just Llangollen and that’s in the centre of the AONB already.
