Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

Cheers @stenard :+1:t3:

Finally had it come through. Pretty basic, but kinda cool if they’re not otherwise being sold. Just a simple swoosh and the outline of Greater London

On the turbo and watching LIONel do his sprint tri.

383W for 134HR at 28mph :scream::scream::scream:

Then does the 5km in 15:08 at 147bpm :exclamation:

He then goes to run and straps on the melba coloured Alpha’s.
So have most pro’s abandoned their shoe sponsors now for Nike???

EDIT: Looks like he’s no longer with Skechers and he was wearing an old trikit. No shoe sponsor at the minute.

My Nike 4% Have Died. I don’t record distance, however, most of my running last year was on my 4%, I covered over 2000km, so estimate at least 1500km on them, I have run 100km in Jan on them, and in 2019 I probably covered 4-500km wearing them, so roughly 2000km

The soles are falling appart, however, the upper is now coming away from the sole. I will probably still use them on the Treadmill for a bit until they are unwareable. Really sorry to see these go, favourite shoe ever.

Yes it’s a shame that Nike appear to have retired the 4% - zoomflys with the fly knit uppers. Absolutely love those shoes

Yup!!!
I’ve currently got two pairs - a pre-race pair and a “posh” pair.

Plus the ZF FK model for training runs.

Deffo my favourite style by far :sob:

Next % and Alpha Fly are faster, I just enjoy running in the VF 4% more. When we did IM Hamburg, the Nike shop had them at 40% discount, for something like 140 Euro… I should have bought 2 pairs to give me another 4000km running pleasure

Not if they give you blisters, they’re not :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
(Specifically me!)

I’m debating ordering an 11.5 in the Next% and stitching the tongue in place to prevent it rubbing me (my previous pairs were Ekiden 10.5 and a neon green 11, the Ekiden were way too small!)

Mine don’t give me blisters, they just don’t feel as nice. The Next% are the worst, AF is good but heavier than VF. When I first had the VF, the very narrow midfoot was strange, but I really fell in love with that feeling, the shoe feels fast and light. Now when I run with shoes with a wider midfoot sole, they feel clunky.

I know it might sound trivial but ultra light socks like hilly mono skins not only keep the weight down on the shoe but can add a decent amount extra space. I have socks just for racing to go with my light shoes. Worth a good 10-15g per shoe

Yup!
Got them and standard width ones.

I’m bad for getting blisters on the tops and instep - things just seem to rub :sob:

Ordered these on Saturday.
Arrived today.
Like canoes they are (UK11.5)
I’ve had a 10.5 and and 11, so hopefully these fit :crossed_fingers:t3:

Nice. I’m liking that colourway :ok_hand:t2:

They’re hideous, I’d rather it was a toe shot!

Haha, horses for courses

they’re just white, blue and some green - pretty plain?
Not sure why my camera makes them look purple?

My socks on the other hand…

…also, I’m on my “loungers” day, I wore a shirt and v-neck sweater yesterday. Proper clothes again tomorrow
Gotta mix up this WFH malarkey.

They’d probably look okay without the stupid blue logo thing.

Like the red/blue/yellow - that’s not immediately clear from the pics on the app

I was going to comment on the cool patterns then realised it was socks

Is that what that is!? :flushed:

I thought they just looked white on their site
