Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

The words of Sean Lock come to mind.

They’re a ‘challenging wank’…

I love mine. A proper bargain, I picked mine up for 160 and I thought that was a steal

I’m fooling myself that colourful shoes will be the key takeaway for anyone seeing me running.

Anyone tried 361 Flame running shoes from decathlon?

£59 for carbon plate shoes (for both of them too, not just one shoe), some good reviews.

Wondering about risking a pair for everyday running

No, but Lidl has some carbon plate shoes atm at a similar price. Won’t win any style awards though!

The plate is high quality carbon

I run in the lidl ones often, they’re good for the money for sure.

I have Burnham HM coming up on Sunday. I’m not in any shape to warrant new ‘super shoes’ but I have a pair of Nike Next% from (I think) 2019.

I’ve done 2 marathons, two half-marathons, a 20miler and a couple of 10km races in them They’ve never been wet and always stored dark/cool.
I’m not looking for them to make me faster, or any kind of magic. Just wondered if they’d still be usable after all this time. Last used them over 18mths ago.

Alternatives are a pair of Asic Novablast 4 with about 300km on them and a brand new pair of Asic Superblast 3 (never worn).

New Nike supershoes coming next year

Plus a new “intro to supershoes” model, with a new iteration of foam they’re calling SkyX

After popping far too many Air pods in the Next% Tempos I just can’t trust that design anymore. As if one pops mid run your screwed, it introduces so much role afterwards you’ll mess your knee up within a km or 2!

Just strap on a pair of rollerblades at this point :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth::rofl:

It’s a fair point. I’ve popped one alphafly pod before without properly realising it. Ankle was not happy afterwards

Fun parkrun this morning :rofl::rofl::rofl:

HOW?

No idea. Just age and decay???

They’re five years old and live in the garage.

I’m not too fussed.

The Ultrafly were given a good run out yesterday and have to say I’m pretty happy with them. On the hard pack and after you work out where the plate kicks then the shoe is responsive. Narrower across than the previous model though.
