Outlaw 2019

Did you not do the Love Island #Salmon dive ???

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Do you have the link for that image on resultsbase?
I am pretty sure I’m three people to your right on that.

Apparently someone did

They haven’t posted any yet. I managed to rob this from their Twitter feed. I think they are still collecting them.

I hadn’t really considered what I was going to do but I had to dive once I spotted the camera

Yo yo yo!!!

Excuse roll call.

Longest swim since 2011 (when I did 61 in the pool for a 4k TT)
Not swam over 40 minutes in six years
Not swam at all from 09/2013 to 06/2018
Only second OW mass start since 2013 (the other being 113 in June)
MASSIVELY underestimate how AGGRESSIVE the 65-70 minute swimmers are :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: @Leigh195 got a black eye.
Stopped to let all the bastards grabbing my feet, sides, arms, legs past.

I knew it would not be a ā€œraceā€ due to the rain and I just swam in ā€œsurvivalā€ mode. Knowing I’d spend 5-10 minutes in T1 and win the war of attrition with my full wet weather gear kit.

Aussie Exit added a minute. As it was so wet, I didn’t run. That was 50m, so say 30s-60s for that.
Course was ā€œlongā€ by 150m (minus the Aussie exit). At the shit pace of 1:50/100m, that’s 165s.
Held at swim exit by marshals due to ā€œthe incidentā€, so took a while to be dragged out and actually go over the timing mat. Let’s say 90s there.
Oh!!! That’s 300s = 5mins.
So about 65mins.

But…
…it was a nice swim! I enjoyed it after all that

It’s a good list of excuses mind. Isoman is meant to returning to UK this year if you want another few years before you do a big event

Jesus that’s nore excuses for 1 swim than I’ve had for a whole year of being rubbish!

My mate is a 1:10 swimmer all day and went 1:20. So your story sort of checks out

Doing this for the fifth time next year.
Just got to work up to Staffs 70.3 now.

Even though Deva is closer and cheaper, I really didn’t like the river swim or run around the park.
And cycle past all of the parked cars and driveways in and out of Chester.

(Deva Oly 2009)

Deva bike is not too bad. Dual carriageway bit and the loop towards wales and back is quite nice / fast…

Run is a bit stop start, river seemed a bit cleaner this year which is still minging
