Parkrun

In the YouTube video Tim gives a brief review of the top and bottom 5. I recall one seemed a bit like you describe. The hardest couple seemed to be mainly on sand.

Is he Cornish by any chance?

Could be Lanhydrock, that’s pretty hilly

He’s Cornish in the way I’m Australian, you wouldn’t guess from his accent🤣
But yes, he lives down there somewhere. I think he runs whiskey bars in London or somethingšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Ben Parkes did one on sand which he said was hard . Might have been Yarmouth?

Woolacombe looks bloody tough

Does Woolacombe take in that big dune next to the beach? That would be awful

I think it does close to the end, ouch!

I’m surprised Widnes is above Stretford.

I can confirm whinlatter is pretty hideous. But very beautiful.

I’m pretty sure that Ben Parkes did Great Yarmouth (rated hardest) and on the same day his girlfriend did the easiest which at the time was Victoria Dock I think, but that’s now moved down the list quite a bit using the new calcs.

I guess there are so many variables, but it’d probably be good to have a list based upon summer and winter months as some courses are huge effected by the weather, and many have alternative winter/bad weather courses.

Yep, they show that in the video. He’s used clips from various YouTube runners, think that one was from Harry Morgan from Jog On.

I’m outing myself as a bit of a YouTube obsessive here aren’t I.

Disaster for me. Pulled out after 400mtrs with. a tight calf. LO ran on her own as she’d left Mum for dead already

Looking very unlikely that my 50km on May 1st will be happening

Actually made it on time but plodded round the first couple of kms before getting progressively quicker - 20 minutes or so, then did another mini loop topping my run to just under an hour. Coffee now then a ride later!

I got asked to pace 20.
According to the garmin as I was running around, my times at the km’s were:
4:01
8:02
12:02
15:59
And I crossed the finish line, taking it very easy down the finishing straight in …
… 19:33

So erm, yeah, not great pacing, didn’t stop anyone making it I don’t think, the guy I talked to at about the 800m mark who said he’s tried going with the 20 pacer before and never made it crossed at 19:52, so hopefully I did okay - still a shit job.

Not actually sure where the garmin got it so wrong, seemed just consistently out even now.
