PEDs

We are the same weight ish and I can move it
10 m at a time ish ! I’m sure you’d smash it.

It’s the 60-63 kg boys and girls who really struggle with the push and the pull even more so as it’s more upper body ( even though it shouldn’t be)

We have a lad in our gym who wants to have a go, ran a 1:17 half this year, 4 min kms is jogging for him…but 64 kg be interesting to see how he adapts to the stations!?
It’s potentially a very good sport, I’m pretty sure I’m better at this than tri but who knows till race day ?!

The ped thing really puts me off to be honest
At least Bolton, Nantwich Oulton etc are “ fair “ events

Jesus that would have to be “ fuck no!”

If a bunch of endurance junkies on a random internet site talking about triathlon ( but mostly dogs, cats, money and cars) are all over hyrox ped use do you think the organisers are?!

I would hope so ?

People who know much more than me about this sport have said several times “ this is going to become a problem “

Hyrox? I guess it’s not a ‘recognised’ sport atm, hence no formal doping code.

Thousands competing at London next month ( over two days ) and multiple posts looking for last min tickets

It’s certainly popular with fitness nuts and drug users alike ( those groups seem to be non mutely exclusive these days!)

I would hope it would be, but as rightly pointed, ‘its not in the rules’…

I’m sure the organisers are well aware. I mean would Puma (their huge partner sponsor) want to be publicly associated with that?.. … …oh wait :zap: :kissing:

Hyrox used to have a no prohibited substances rule, but of course that was never tested or otherwise enforced. Looking at the current rulebook, that has disappeared. Now all there is is:-

  1. RULES OF CONDUCT
By registering for a HYROX event participants are agreeing to compete in a fair and honorable manner. Poor sportsmanship e.g., attempts at deception, manipulation, excessive disputes as well as disrupting and/or obstructing other participants can lead to penalties, disqualification, a lifetime ban from HYROX competitions and/or legal action. Any participant who is disqualified from a HYROX competition or banned for future events will not receive a refund for any fees or dues. This also applies to other behavior that could harm or disturb participants, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and spectators. At event organizers discretion any of the aforementioned actions may be taken against any participant.

Dope away then.

Although having people who openly admit doping on the Internet take part in your events isn’t a great look. I wonder if they’d bar people based on that.

Dear Hyrox (cc Puma, Concept2, Red Bull, WADA, etc),

Is it ok for me to compete even though I am juiced up to the eyeballs on T?

I note that there is a lad who competes quite a lot in your events (gets onto the podium occasionally), makes YT videos about competing and also makes other YT videos fully admitting to T supplementation.

I look forward to clarification.

Yours,

Remember the guy who wore a Doping Sucks T-shirt at the AG awards in Frankfurt, the year an Ex Pro cyclist won.

Would be interesting to get @chickenboy take on it, as he is top AG athlete

I used to get pretty upset thinking about all the AG athletes taking TRT and other PEDs, however, in the past 2 years, as I have made the step up to become a top AG athelete, it doesn’t bother me. I am really proud what I have achieved, I know that I could be better (without PEDs) I could drink less beer, I could swim more, I could watch my weight better - I don’t need PEDs to be better. I assume that the people who beat me are just a bit more focused, maybe the odd one or 2 take PEDs, so what?. We know that plenty of athletes take PEDs, I just don’t think that they are beating me. The biggest issue I have is people thinking that because I am a good AGer I must be taking PEDs - This seems to come from people who were like me 3 years ago, maybe in the top 25, but never threatening a podium (at least one of whom I know takes PEDs)

It’s totally different for the Pro’s, it’s their living

You nailed it here mate. You’ve got to be a bit of a narcissist if you’re an AGer resorting to PEDS. After all, it is only a hobby and no one really gives a sh1t about your result other than you. So I really don’t get it. Like you, I drink beer, eat shit, do triathlon, have fun.

I was racing ex doping pro Petr Vabrousek in Copenhagen, and I so wanted to beat him, more on principal than anything else. (He was doing the kalmar Copenhagen double-small detail) Got him in the end

People on TT give a sh1t, but basically you are right

Tim Bailey ?
American 60-65
Has won his last five Ironmans sub 10 for one I think ?
Did he win Kona and nice ?

Tested 3? Times in 5 races, all this started with a random comment from a “ Larger” lady about six packs and snowballed into a shit storm.

Anyone who takes peds and puts a number / tracker / pays for a race or turns up at park run is a (unt!

In any sport ! Just why.

It’s sad AF that some people take peds in tri I know two at least but there muscle monsters and because there are not sleds, skis or towers to make up huge time on… no one gives AF

IF THEY were getting in the podium people would grassing them up left right and centre … but that’s sport I guess

You did this sport before me, I never knew some of this stuff

Jesus Christ it’s just a bit of ( painful ) sport, I really don’t get the deceit, lies and bare faced cheating !

I don’t care if it’s in the rules or not no one, will ever ever convince me doping is ok in anything.

Seriously, seeing the amount of training that some do like yourself and Dave, it’s good to see you get the results.

Sowler needs a Doping Sucks t-shirt for his next event. Hair loss is caused by DHT levels; funny that Mark is losing his. The question is, was he already losing it before he started juicing :tipping_hand_man:

Ultimately most middle-aged blokes could simply massage their tesiticles to stimulate T production; that’s a medical fact.

I guess you get them in every sport
But I’d hope ALOT less in tri/ cycling / our world.

He’s not alone I’ve just been advised with my running … (I’m hardly Ginger bingo but some of these guys are just massive and have glacial run splits) if you put 10 kilos on…you would have soo much more power FFS, at 80 kg I’m as fast as them round the track.
