As a vet, i ran 34:03 iirc for 10k, but sadly didn’t post a 5k time when on form. 5k was really a track race in the 70s and 80s as @Jorgan says. i was a couple of minutes faster at 10k in my late 20s but was already well on the long distance trail by then.
During my all too brief time with cycling teams, it was obvious that even in the reserve teams, PEDs were a common feature. I can’t recall ever a moment of consideration, but then again, i never considered that i could bridge the gap…
First he was fat.
Then he stopped eating and started endurance and got all skinny and probably that helped tank his T.
Then, watching a YouTube bodybuilder on T, he decided to get ripped whilst still doing the endurance training so jacked up on TRT and lo and behold he is now better than average!
I agree that he is funny and his videos are engaging, but there is an undercurrent of weird aggressiveness there, I wonder what causes that?
You see a private doctor and you pay for a private prescription. There must be some element of low T (looking at his skinny photo that looks fairly obvious) and I’m sure that the doctor must say something like I can’t just prescribe immediately, come back in a month after taking some rest and eating normally and if you don’t have the natural T levels of a 21 year old stud I’ll sell you the gear.
The problem with taking peds is it casts a shadow Across anything you ever did, your doing now or do in the future.
A quote I’ve read literally hundreds of times on boxing and MMA sites.
Once you go down that road … your ducked
If he won the tour, beat Tyson fury in the evening and then won the world cup the day after … he’s still … a drug cheat.
His transformation is quite shocking, but he’s a cheat
Dress it up however you like…he is a 100%
Make all the videos you like … CHEAT !
( I actually quite like him, he will never be in my age group! )
Would they s actually supply injectable testosterone ?!
I know it’s covered by the medicines act not the misuse of drug acct.
The simple fact is they inject themselves with 4-5 times the amount of test an 18 year old would have at 50-60 years of age.
Never ends well.
Do they publish/you know what their T levels are? Their age normal would be around 12-25nmol/L. Presumably they’re maintaining at the upper limit at that. If they were above 30 that’s a suggestion they need to reduce.
Choice (medically) is usually ~12-weekly injections, or daily gel. Not uncommon for patients to be on injections.
Would mean the doctors deliberately prescribing a dose knowing someones levels though, rather than someone just accidentally putting on a bit more gel.
I don’t actually know anyone who goes down that route.
I know lots ( 15-20) that take steroids.
Usually “ supplied” by other bodybuilders apparently apart from HGH the price has come down recently, no idea why?!
Some once a year as a “ treat” some the other bodybuilders slag off as they don’t cycle ( on and off) and stay on a low dose constantly. ?!
There will be a top age groupers like you dabbling I’m guessing somewere in tri and cycling, which is sad AF.
Honestly the younger generation just stand there openly telling each other what there taking as they get changed I actually prefer than than guys my age with 20” arms and
“ natural “ t shirts on!
