Our new local authority gym and pool has just opened up this week, 500 metres from home, in the direction of the train station. Hoping this will motivate me to up the training a bit.
Only 4 Watt bikes (facing a wall at about half a metre distance!) which I suppose is better than none, lots of treadmills, the rowing machines aren’t Concept2 though, but I’m not a regular/consistent rower.

I’m not sure I understand the implications here; is this saying that local council must provide swimming and leisure, or is it saying that they must not outsource it, or both?
that they must provide facilities, not how they do so.
