I have a GXP SRAM crank Stages PM that I swap between my CX and MTB and in the past had used it with my SRAM red road group set as well.
It takes 5mins to swap over. I have been lucky with finding a number of gen 3 Ultegra Stages cranks for the road bikes on eBay. The most I have paid is £220 and that was for the RH Stages Ultegra chainset.

Both my bikes are Ultegra 11 spd so it would be a simple swap. Probably makes more sense than waiting for a speedplay compatible option.
I still need to decide whether to keep the powertap wheel I still have or sell it to fund the purchase
