Pro bike sponsors

Thought it was Bangkok, Pattpong (sp) 1 or 2, or maybe both, many years ago mind

Its an experience to see (and hear!)… and its Singapore… its become as much a tourist attractions as it is a ‘service’ :joy:

I’ve been to Orchard Road, just shops, no knockin’.

Sorry, the ÂŁ8,499 price I quoted was for the Aerium C68 SLT 2020 version

The 2021 edition is priced at ÂŁ10,499

But seeing as Cube have shipped zero bikes into the UK in 2021, chances of getting one might be slim.

Makes you why Canyon sponsor Sanders when you can’t buy one in Canada either.

They have also just gone up 14%

That magical 14%. Yay to Brexit :triumph::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::roll_eyes:

Yes, but we got back control of our borders

You know you can leave the UK,right? Nobody is holding a gun to your head.

It’s like the dickheads that say to me ‘you’re so lucky to be able to live in Oz, I’d do that given half a chance’. It’s bollox, you had the same chance I did, you just have to sacrifice. Oh what’s that? you don’t want to leave your parents because of the babysitting or bank of Mum and Dad doesn’t exist 12,000 miles away? boo fucking hoo.

That’s what it takes. There are always options, which is fuck ton better than living a life moaning.

this is my 5th country and my 37th house. Nobody paid for my moves, nobody gave me a ‘soft landing’ no expat package and I still like it here, or there.

More than that on mine. They’re still offering* the exact same bike (spec, colour scheme, everything), yet it’s gone up from 2,799 to 3,299! :flushed: that’s 17.86%. Seriously glad I purchased when I did now!

I guess this is going to play out with all direct to consumer business models. I assume power2max are also now entirely uncompetitive in terms of pricing in the UK. The headline prices won’t have changed on their website, but the import duty and vat will make them so.

(*) if an Aug 2021 estimated delivery as of today can really be considered available for sale!

VAT has not changed remember, only duty.

My propel from last year is looking much better value now, ÂŁ3200 with Ultegra Di2 and a dual sided power meter.

Always amazed by the number of people riding around in winter on good carbon bikes.

I absolutely know that. More than most as you know. I also have 2 passports and speak 2 languages. I also have ongoing job applications in Austria and france.

The anger is at the shit show that was the Brexit vote. A lie!!! I didn’t vote for it but I have to live with it - until I move.

You do know that everyone is entitled to an opinion that may be different to yours!?

My Paralane is carbon and it’s my spare bike at Mum’s, gets used all weathers. Not sure if it’s ‘good’. It has 105 and boat anchor wheels, what was surprising when I bought it was that there wasn’t much difference between the carbon and alloy versions.

Just been on a little local stroll with the family. Amazed by the number of decent bikes out with deep section wheels and no mudflaps.

After the rain yesterday the roads and lanes around here will be properly shitty too. Must be meticulous with their cleaning!

Yes I do. I have 2 passports and a mixed race family and I can speak two languages (not sure why Europeans think they are the only ones that can? )

I don’t like the outcome of Brexit either but getting wound up about and constantly shouting about it gets nowhere does it! We have a long term exit plan as well but I’ve found in all 5 countries I’ve lived and paid tax in, you have to adjust to the place you are in. Make the most of where you are. Doesn’t mean it’s all great but it’s rarely all shit either.

Yes I get that others have a different opinion but contaminating every thread with Brexit winging it Covid sky is falling, when we have other thread for people to vent there, just gets bloody boring. It’s a cheap response that adds nothing all the conversation.

You can move now, same as I can. The hurdles are the ones we put in our own way. If it’s convenient to stay, stay, if it’s not, go. Just don’t be a perennial moaner.

No because shutting up about it accepts it and doesn’t hold the lying politicians to account. It’s the same as racism and gender inequality. Not talking about it accepts it.

“The grass is greener where you water it” - you’ve got to make the most of life where you are (not where you want to be) but you don’t Just role over and say you must just accept everything - an advantage of living in a democratic world. If you believe passionately about it make a point of learning and then opposing with facts.

We’ll just agree to disagree on this point. Let this topic get back to its original subject.

I completely agree but there is an audience for it. You aren’t holding lying politicians to account on here.

Personally, I come on here to avoid all the other social media crusades that aren’t going to change anything, and I avoid the Brexit thread on here because life is depressing enough if you let it be. I’d prefer not to read about it on a thread about LCB and bikes.

Of course, I have the option to not open any thread just in case I don’t like what is being said, but the thread titles should give some indications on what is safe.

I know. Apologies for rising to the bait. Just stating the facts for price rises and that leads on to other things :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
