Bardet looked too old to enjoy the win. 
Iām wondering though, with so many sprint stage opportunities has the tour design ruined some racing with Jakobson and Cav fucked on day one?

One of Cavās strengths always used to be his ability to get through a stage like that and still sprint well the next day.

Personally I would have chosen to be off the back as far as possible to minimise the ādamageā of stage 1, while they clearly werenāt taking it easy I do wonder how much was taken out of the other sprinters that chose to keep up.

Heās done this every year for 16 years.
Theyāre just focussing on it now, as itās a bigger story for 35

Ooh bit of a crash, WVA down but back up and chasing. One of Ineos riders back up but looks like heās been through a shredder.
Breakaway is a long way in the lead with 68km to go. 9ā29ā. Ten riders I think.
