No, it was Laurens De Plus who withdrew from Romandie with a back injury

I should have had more faith in Pedersen.

I did (still do) actually like Wiggo, always sounded like he was fairly genuine ignoring the jiffy bag allegations and quite a lot of stories about him turning up and helping on local club TT’s etc. but I suspect this kind of extreme behaviour is a downside to reaching that level for some people.

Let’s hope he doesn’t turn into the cycling equivalent of Gazza.

ā€œI was a functioning addict. People wouldn’t realise - I was high most of the time for many years." I suspect people did know, certainly from this distance it looked like it.

One of the many reasons fame should not be admired or sought.

He’s not redeeming himself. My stepson works at a venue where he did one of his ā€œtourā€ dates recently. He was 45 mins late.

I’m a bit sick of the ā€œwoe is me, I was abusedā€ narrative. A lot of us had :poop: childhoods, mate, acknowledge it, move on.

We saw his last family lunch at a cafe in the Lancashire countryside - it looked painful and he did have a fair few pints in the time we were sitting there.

Welcome to adulthood - not exactly fun all the time.

A better approach I think is to talk about your crap childhood not to say just hard it was, but to say to others ā€˜it’s okay to have had a shit childhood’ youre in good company, that kind of thing. Make others feel it’s okay to come from that or talk about it if they want to. I’m not sure he’s there yet, but I’ve never thought he was feeling sorry for himself.

And plenty of people are just as fucked up without any yellow jerseys. Lots of junkies never get past it.

He wrote in his first book about going on a massive bender that lasted for weeks after winning Olympic gold.

He seems like an all or nothing personality

Kin ell!!!

Who’s the Mexican chap :exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head:
UAE absolutely smashing it :fire:

I made that point to a work colleague, it was obvious too many in 2009. A gift and a curse. Allows extreme focus but also required release and is ultimately destructive.

He looks great on a bike, pink will suit him down to the ground :pinched_fingers: .

Will be interesting to see if his team support him now that he’s top dog, hopefully they’ll at least divide resources.

I keep forgetting about the highlights show; I’m watching the TNT YouTube highlights. Are they on Quest at 7pm? Would be nice to see the Lucca/Pisa TT more, as we’re headed there on holiday.

Yup, Quest at 7pm for an hour.

Noice!!!

Nah to you about diving resources.
I went with Ayuoso. As I didn’t know about this chap!
Roglic was my back up.

Now you’ve overtaken me.

I didn’t have faith in WvA :face_with_peeking_eye:
