Given he doesn’t have a strong history in TT that’s going to raise some eyebrows. He’s already been fending off questions regarding his performance.

First 1000 point day for me. Shame I got the winners the wrong way round

In fairness, it wasn’t a classic TT route. The top 10 is packed with GC riders

He’s put on some very good TT rides in recent years and like GB said, massive hill favours the GC rider type over the TT specialists.

Oh balls. I’d bought Campanaerts instead of Cavagna in error. Dammit. Free points shipped there.

Still got that bloody deadweight that is Fred W as well! :joy:

Had Jonas for the win and guessed the time to within 6 seconds :sunglasses:

Hard to believe performance mind

I think the time that Pog had after breaking his wrist at LBL is catching up with him now. He’s obviously missing the top few % from his performance and that’s what has prevented him from gapping Ving in the recent mountain stages and will have taken the edge off his TT.

I hadn’t noticed the gap to 3rd was so big. It’s definitely a 2 horse race now and I can’t see Ving losing from here

Got my stage bonus wrong again and thats cost me, down to 6th now

I worked out, reversing the captain between Pog/Ving was worth 89 points which is substantial.

I wonder what Lance makes of such a dominant performance.

Its sad that the sport is so tainted that someone does something like that and immediately people thuik must be doping.

But how does someone do something like that? Taking that much time from 2nd place on a short course like that. Doesnt look normal.

2:51 out of third place as well.

It is possibly the most dominant sporting performance I’ve ever seen. It’s like a 10000m where first place is a lap and a half in front of second and second is a lap and a half in front of third

That was actually unbelievable

It just shows how large the natural variation in athletes is, now we’ve finally cracked the doping problems in sport.

After millennia of human evolution, it comes down to 100seconds over 22km :white_check_mark:

isn’t it often the way though that the mainGC contenders outperform in the final time trial? For one thing, they’re the best riders. And then they have a real reason to lay it all in the line, they have something real to gain or lose, unlike the guy in 20th place. Vingegard looked properly spent at the finish, I reckon he gave it 110%. plus I think he is lighter than Pog? and 800m of elevation in 20 something km must play to his strength. And on top of all that, he had a great ride. I think maybe it all just came together for him.

That was unbelievable.

( god I hope he’s clean)

*I have no reason to think he’s not.

I saw someone describe it that he rode like Ganna on the flat and Pantani on the hills. I don’t buy it all but ‘standard’ rest day fresh bag of RBCs doesn’t account for that difference does it?

Do Cervelo do a TT e-bike?

Jumbo Visma are effectively the same team as Rabobank aren’t they?
