Just see that Liv Mathias, Alex Yees mrs, came 3rd at National XC champs on Saturday. Clearly been running with The Yee . GTB top ten as well showing just how good triathletes are at running.
That’s impressive.
My mate Jamie was in the men’s and he’s really no slouch at all but came approx 1200th out of 2000
I used to love Parli Hill. London and Southerns were there every year. Did nats once there and was way down Southerns used to be 15k.
It was knee deep mud every race!
Probably nowt compared to the Sodbury Slog……
All that shandy spilling everywhere
I ran the southerns in 2008 and loved being part of that stampede up the hill from the start. The other nine miles not so much. I finished mid-pack and Ronnie O’Sullivan was seven minutes ahead of me.
I also noticed from my blog at the time that the following day I did a 18 mile run. Although it was comforting to read from my training log that I “couldn’t run for days afterwards as my lower legs were killing me.” So I wasn’t invincible back then as I sometimes think I was.
In other pro related news I saw a couple of days ago that Paula Findlay is going to do an Ironman this year. There’s going to be a video series about it on the IM channel. No idea if she’s announced which one but Texas is a fairly popular earlyish season one.
Aaron Royle also doing his first as he’s been announced for Roth.
She has, well a probably, I heard it today but I’ve forgot. It will come back to me.
Lake Placid July
Considered Roth.
She’s starting her session with Oceanside 70.3
Missing T100 Singapore because of Green Card application.

Imogen Simmonds (professional triathlete) has returned an adverse analytical finding during anti-doping drug testing. Both Simmonds A & B samples have returned positive for the presence of the banned substance for a metabolite of Ligandrol and as such as she has been provisionally suspended
Assuming the quantity is correct it’s an absolute tiny amount that in years gone by would presumably be impossible to actually measure
Not trying to excuse her but modern technology probably makes it easier for any minor contamination to be detected
Micro dosing ?
Apparently she’s claiming it was passed to her from her (bodybuilding) boyfriend via bodily fluid!
I’ll leave that to your imagination!
WADA aren’t swallowing that!
But she…no better not finish that sentence
That can be from the time of the higher dose to the point of measuring, so despite a tiny amount detected it can indicate a significant dose.
I agree with what you’re saying just that in previous times it might not have been detected at that level, short of them giving a sample every day it will be difficult to prove guilt\innocence.
Oh come on!
Strict liability
With the attitude of governing bodies, the general public and other athletes ( YOU ) this is never getting sorted.
I remember when Ethan Haytor first went to manchester as a fresh faced 17/18year old on their dev programme (pre his team sky deal) . He didn’t ride his bike for 2 weeks as he received intense media training and had the testing protocols etc drilled into them. No excuses. Strict liability always for me, no wishy washy BS about swallowing tainted meat like contador and…well…
