2:34 marathon ?!?
Crazy
In the fighting chance he said they had a flat on the car, hopefully that’s all the flat issues done! ![]()
Great racing by Kat ![]()
Wasnt wrong… by a massive 9m40, love the commentary at 8km into the run… “it might come down to a sprint finish” really, USA bias. No it really won’t. Great result for Kat. Who is her new coach btw.
LIONel. Obvs ![]()
She’d do a better job self coached, Kats super power is her grit and ability to recover in my opinion. It is crazy, and to think it was kind of an accident to fall into Tri.
Re: New Coaches…
Paula’s coach is a women, I think I know who it is, female, coaches a world tour Pro team?
Alex Dowsett for the bike, not sure about swim and run
Wasn’t she working with Patrick Lemieiux (sp?).
I think he was her coach and Alex was juts giving special advice as opposed to planning her programme. Could well be wrong there.
Pat Lemieux is her agent not her coach
Impressive 1:08 run for Cameron Main at 70.3 Venice for 2nd. 1:10 and 4th for Stuart Dickinson.
Course looked pan flat but a few dead turns. Gone are the days when 1:13 odd was good for the win….
I’m a bit suspicious of the run length, either that or M50 was completely stacked.
Edit, bit of Strava stalking suggests all 3 legs were pretty accurate and only a bit short.
Looking forward to Aix 70.3 on the Proseries this weekend, really liked racing there and a nice place to holiday imo
When there was a lot less white in my hair ![]()
The run course is 50/50 and I still remeber the heat, but the swim and bike are fine work. Free real beer in the athlete village after too. Would love to be on the course this weekend.
Blu for the win.
My one and only “Ironman” branded event back in 2014. It was great. My sister now lives on the run course. Walking the dog on the route last year brought back a lot of memories.
Spoiler
That didnt end well for Beaugrand
I sometimes wonder how some courses get their RA’s signed off.
not seen it - what happened?
Summary
To be fair it was poor technique as she got out of saddle to power out of corner a bit early but it was that very smooth paving, on the exit of a 90deg. corner, coupled with torrential rain. Cant help the rain but not great course choice considering as it meant the field came back together due to the reduced pace through that section.
Just seen a video of it - rider error but yes, a dodgy section. Seems they altered the bike course due to the rain to take out a dangerous section but that shiny bit they could do nothing about.
Made it a bit of a run race in the end, although that’s ITU for most races.
Will watch mens later on turbo. Ive managed to avoid result so far!
