In 2016 I did Ben Nevis fell race on the Saturday, drove south and did Helvellyn on the Sunday, the run was hard work!

Yep, starts and finishes at the sports club on the edge of the town.

There was a Rat Race Scafell run on the Sunday too, as well as Helvellyn Tri
I only did the ROC as it turned out (which was fab, and the weather was OK). Had to get back ome unfortunately. I was unstiff enough on Sun am to have had a half decent bash tho, just for a giggle. but I gather the Sunday weather in Lakes was a bit bleak tho? so didn’t miss much!

MrME did Helvellyn, not sure about the weather though, it got very grim in Northumberland late morning but the quicker people at Helvellyn might have made it.
Not sure if the swim was a bit short as the times seemed pretty rapid.
so some of the bike leg while out & about sunday ,was mild & claggy looked a headwind back over dumbmail raise pass

A mate did it and said it was bleak. Windy and claggy on the both hike and run. He’s done it a couple of times and said it was very tough.

I also had a friend do it, he’s done it several times.
The water was warmer than usual, he clocked it at 1000m…is that short? The bike was cold, wet & grim. He was grateful to get to The Struggle & start to warm up. Zero viz & a howling wind on the top of Helvellyn.
Like a moth to the flame, I’m sure he’ll do it all again next year

Yeah, swim is supposed to be a mile unless they’ve dropped that now it’s TBF.

i noticed swim times lookedd quick , it should be 1500m ,maybe due to weather out of water it was reduced
It was always advertised as a mile but rarely measured accurately
