The bubble strikes again! :joy:

The fallout from Strava action in the link I posted above.

Taking on a company as big as Garmin isn’t a great idea :joy:

DC Rainmakers article on this is interesting and I suspect that the IP flex might have backfired when it exposes the lack of commercial acumen leading up to the IPO

Now it shows the device next to the time in your feed.

You don’t have to click into it.

A big chunk of the events on my Strava feed originated from Zwift

Oh. That incredibly dull Rainman video?

I couldn’t bear to watch it. I saw the title and thought what a load of tosh. Turns out it was. And I lost zero energy even thinking about it.

Oh. Yeah!

I can now unfollow the Wahoo users and Apple Watch folks. Nice.

Don’t even need to click that link.

The first few words in that preview are what I’d assumed would occur from the previous link.

Storm in a tea cup.

Foolish opportunity to make some noise before he IPO. Having read a few commentaries it does appear to weaken the Strava business case

Yep, as above they’re massively dependent on Garmin for activity uploads and Zwift for indoor cycling which will likely increase for the next 5 months.

Hardly anyone still uses their app to record activities which is generally what got them going years ago when GPS watches were less mainstream.

I don’t think so. Anecdotally and from ñ=1 …

I recall being on it at launch(ish) and me and all my training buddies at the time used Garmin. And plugged them in once a week or so. And manually uploaded.

The app was dog turd. And still is.

You could still use the app on a phone which had GPS to record an activity which quite a few people did, I rarely used it if my watch battery failed.

It was notoriously bad for GPS and people getting segments using it

Going on the followers I’ve culled in recent years they must have a massive amount of dormant accounts.

That was when DIGITALepo was around.

The good times.

People used to get well pissy about it.

Not sure why Strava thinks I’m in New York :man_shrugging:t2:

It just assumed you are due another trip.

Funny you should say that but it’s Italy I’m heading to :joy:

Any chance you’ve been doing the new NYC routes in zwift?
