I could never live with myself if I stooped so low

I just went for a walk along the beach and up the river. Even got my shoes covered in mud and cow shit. That would’ve made a great strava entry but I forgot to start the watch! :joy:

Don’t you burn as many calories walking as running (for the same distance obvs)? So yeah, walks are fine!

Yes, walks are great…

…just not on fuckin Strava!!

Wrong again Elf!

Walking is number #2 activity in all of strava land. (said in thick faux Russian accent for greatest effect)

A few of my friends have started more HIIT workouts although I don’t record weight training when I do it.

With the running groups for social reasons that is happening, there’s a local group that other than a couple of runners who are fast and tend to run it, the rest are mostly hobby joggers who go for the social benefits, but he charges quite a lot of money compared to our club.

Edit: the social side and exercise in general is still good though :+1:

Really? All the social run clubs are free here. There’s at least 5-10 of them, always feels there’s too many and should some amalgamate to make it, more social. I often join one on Sundays, 5k at ~6-630 pace.

It’s kind of a club, group, cult kind of thing. There’s even a waiting list to join at the moment, and although I think they have social runs I should have said it’s the training sessions that cost money. When we train at the track there’s the fee for that but the session as such is put on for being a member.

They’re quite visible on social media as well. But training in a big group with people of the same ability is probably better than going down and seeing someone take 90 seconds or more per K out of you!

I was going to ask if it was all about the selfies for the socials

I see lots of running groups around here and they all seem to be constantly taking their photos

Does anyone know why my predicted times on strava have suddenly taken a bit of a downward turn? I’m still using the same watch and HR monitor. Did a half marathon this morning and checked to see if it had updated (was 1:37.31) and this is what my graph looks like:

Not sure if it’s a setting in Strava or Garmin that has changed? Has anyone experienced similar, or is it predicting I go off the rails over Christmas?
