Strava

10sec/km from 5k to 10k is very similar to mine, but then it is less to the half, and only 24sec/km drop to the full.

I think the Strava predictions are more realistic than Garmin’s which is strange considering how unproductive I keep getting told I am.

There’s what Garmin says for me. the 5km is definitely too fast. The half and 10 about right- agrees with Strava on the 10.

You should be good for 3h02m mid/high (to 3h 04).. if you’ve done the long runs with some a MP imo. I was going to post that after I saw your great HM time.

Please Sir can I just take my Garmin predicted times right now…

I think it is off because of my resting HR and how my HR reponds towards max.

The bike threshold is normally spot on though.

Btw.

It is interesting we have the same predicted 5km… but look at the difference on the others.

The overall profile might make sense from what I know (very little) just the actual times are out.

I’d say your HM is quicker than the predicted time (well it was semi recently)… not sure about the others

Mine are crazy different, Garmin a touch too optimistic on the 5/10k and strava way too slow. I barely do any intensity running these days so guess it doesn’t have a lot to go off

5k - Garmin 17:49, strava 20:41

10k - Garmin 38:19, Strava 42:52

Half - Garmin 1:26 Strava 1:36

My garmin is wildly optimistic, I think because the 935 is too old to have any of the more recent metrics.

16:19 for a 5k
2h36 for the marathon

Does anyone use or look at the fitness score? I know it’s an arbitrary number based on recent training but gives an idea of where I am to building back to better fitness.

I peaked about 130 in September last year at a 30k trail race before my groin went bang, then plummeted to 56 as I pretty much stopped training followed by the knee problem.

It’s gradually going back up and has reached 90 today. Not exactly sure how it correlates to results but I definitely a bit better run 14k easy today.

this is the last 2 years for me, pretty (low) level here for the last 18 months after a slow crawl back from hip injury.

The peak in July 2025 was Cots Classic, so maybe there’s something in this training malarkey after all…

So have Strava just released this, or, is it an old feature?

Old.

As far as I’m aware it’s always been on there.

I think when I’m going well my number is over 100.
Currently not going so well…

It definitely seems to favour endurance training for the higher fitness values, I’ve enabled form on mine which I think is only available in the full web version, unless I’ve missed it on my phone.

It takes the expected route of peaking if you are tapering where the fatigue goes down.

Dare say there’s equivalent metrics in training peaks and other platforms. But as I said I find it a recent barometer of fitness, but not of injuries!

I did my 1:20 half on about 40. And my 4:27 half on around 70, so i dont read anything into that nonsense now.

That’s because they don’t have your data. It’s in your vault. So it’s just been guessing

The fitness thing has been there for years.

I can also confirm that the lowest it goes is 1.

Just saw this worthy Strava post nominal :joy: someone I’m sure we all know, but I blanked out the name out of a sense of don’t quite know why.
