Probably going to bait hammer into a talk on long term athlete development. I’m scared to to celebrate it too much out of caution, but she is remarkable for a 4 year old.
Her fly thats incredible
Not enough background to concern me She looks happy though.
My concerns are usually reserved for kids clearly not enjoying themselves, and early specialisation only if it is to the detriment of all else, as long as theres time on feet and ball games.
Duty manager: “The engineers are coming to fix the pool heating on Monday”
Me: “Okay then”
101 x 100m off 2:00
Well done! Was the extra one because you lost count?
Just to see if there was anything left
Probably could have got to 105, but it would have be super messy
Awsome work @funkster
I mean this in the nicest possible way @funkster, but what the hell is wrong with you.
Low power mode on 100% - you’re carrying trauma from your other posts here
Other than that WTF. How many have you done now? Sadomasochism!
After getting into a better groove recently I’ve not been in the pool for 8-9 days now. First day back tomorrow
Self loathing I guess
Depends how long you’ve been a TT lurker before starting to post. Potentially a LOT more than you think
Awesome work, and fast too
Wonder who’s going to be the first here to go all Sean Conway now and knock out 102?
This is the first time I’ve managed 100 x 100m
Did a few 80’s
Used to do a lot of long pull and paddles, including 10km on my birthday in 2021
Thanks dude.
I realised I’d done 10km Pull and paddles a while back, so felt the need to make this my longest by doing 101.
One thing is that it’s shown is the difference a couple of seconds per 100m make on my endurance.
I almost (almost) fancy another crack at this while still having easy access to a pool.
Last summer I did 100 x 100m off 2 mins but was nowhere near as fast as you, think was averaging about 1m45 per hundred dropping the wrong side of 1m50 towards the end. The pool is open air and it went dark during the 3h20m it took to do this, which made checking the watch a bit tricky, plus the watch had the bad grace to run out of battery on lap #100
In moments of extreme optimism I have considered trying off 1m50, but it would probably turn into a continuous swim and then I’d implode somewhere around half way. 1m55 is just too difficult to do the maths. At least with 2 minutes you know exactly which lap you are on by dividing the number of minutes elapsed by 2- although seem to remember even that got a bit hard for my brain towards the end.
Can you not just swim 4 lengths, then hit the lap button just as you push off. Then on the lap screen it’ll tell you which lap you’re on?
Might try it… I don’t really understand my lap button
I’d much prefer keeping count on 1:55 (no watch). Then if I lose track I can work it out knowing I’m not going to be wrong by 12x100.
Yes but you probably have plenty of time between efforts to do the maths, I’d be getting about 2 seconds to grab some oxygen for the addled brain & then go again
Keeping count was the last thing I wanted to do.
I would just look at the watch after “some” reps to work out how far I was
That’s my point, don’t need to count on a 1:55, can just work it out when you need to and hope you’re not wrong by 1200m!
