The 4w/kg thread

I haven’t used mine for nearly a year as I’ve knocked Tri on the head for the foreseeable and can be found lurking on the Strength Training thread these days.
I did some tests when I first got it and found it a pretty close match to my P2M (crank based) powermeter which are pretty well regarded as far I could see.

Most my riding is watching lectures, but guessed threshold to be ~300W based on feel after trying a few sessions.

Tested at the weekend = 303W, so that was a waste of an hour of pain.
Think there’ll be more to come from switching to a road bike, but at 80kg need to do some training to get back above 4w/kg.

86.7kg x4 is um 80 err 24, 28, let me think now…346.8W FTP for me so only 100Ws to find then.

Best go shopping for a new power meter I guess.

Watts per cda is my friend though so I’m still pretty good on the flat in aero. Best bike split has my aero-ness as Avg. CdA 0.2646

My best w/kg was in 2019

4.5 to 4.6 w/kg… 62.5kg 285 - 290 FTP based on 40 minute TT and the 20 minutes test

This was short lived as I was far too light and became ill, anemia and some other health problems.

My second best was Feb 2020 just before Covid 67kgs and 4.25 w/kg this was solid.

I was feeling strong, and I also had my best 2 - 4 hour power by some margin, but alas never got to race in this condition as shortly after covid kicked in and races were cancelled. I lost motivation, as others used lockdown to train more, I lost interest.

I tend to sit around 3.2 - 3.6 w/kg with moderate training. It takes a lot to get to 4.x

I do not think I’ll get 4.2 plus ever again (4 will be pushing it) it just took so much focus and time. Both diet and training.

I not going to get back to those weights and Im not going to do the 15 - 20 hour training weeks it took, which was all bike and some strength that isnt counted in those hours.

Albeit my first TT of the year and capped T 5miles but hit 4.25WKG for the first time in a few years. Will see next week at the first 10 if I can replicate this.

Saw your ride on Strava - looked absolutely rapid!!

Managed 287W for 31 minutes last night during a traumatic TTT :joy: slightly higher 20 minute power.

Despite hardly any real efforts recently, although I’d need a boxers weighin regime or ozempic microdosing to get my weight down to 73kg

Probably around 75kg fasted atm

Maybe I should do some actual training :man_shrugging:t2:

I have been doing the SISU Reissu series as a ‘fun’ way to tick off the new France routes. Mass starts, flat routes, just try and hang with the group.
Monday - 4.3w/kg* for 41min around Bon Voyage
Tuesday - 4.2w/kg* for 49min around Three Musketeers
Tonight - 4.7w/kg for 17min around Croissant

*w/kg valid for Zwift weight only
