I have a massive risk averse nature and our current changing future (at work) fills me with fear TBH, some of it is just the way things are but I think we’re taking unnecessary risks.
Sounds like a boys night out in Blackpool is needed to talk it through.
No Spoons though. Don’t live in Spoons, its a way of life (non-life) for some.
…and with apparently just that thought I’ve gained over 3kgs. FFS.
Well it was a nice break, all four days of it, heading to the trainer now! ![]()
When Bill Nighy played the “aging rock star” in Love Actually he was only 53 FFS
In the same vein, the actress who played Stiffler’s mum in American Pie was 38!
Seems like the best place for this news…..
I have become a National Trust member
It’s become our annual Xmas present from the outlaws. We’ve used it loads. The cafes are good!
I saw something a few days ago extending those if you can do this you’ll live longer\forever etc.!
This was a dead hang as a guide to grip strength and forearms etc., 30 seconds sounded alright, 60 for our age was excellent apparently. Anyway, had a quick go today and got to about 50 seconds. But, I’d done upper arm weights last night with slightly heavier weights, and had also been on the exercise bike so my hands were sweaty and slipping.
Going to give it another go in a few days.
Good for decompressing your back as well. Especially for us office sitters.
Yes, also heard that.
‘kin ‘ell @Bob your going to live forever ![]()
I bought a family membership to the LDWA this year. ![]()
Anna would probably hang for ages as well! A few others are climbers on here?
They’re probably not trying to hold up 76kg’s though ![]()
Don’t know if I’m going to live forever like Bob, but I’m definitely going to get to a ripe old age ![]()
We are the same weight now ! I’ll be 78/79 by the end of Jan
I couldn’t do a min ?!
It’s harder than you think
My arms and hands were certainly aching at the end.
Doing a leg strength circuit now
I’ll try again at the end I’m 100% better at press-ups and pull ups than hanging .. it’s orrible
I do 2x 1min 30 hangs in the gym every Friday. Makes a big difference what your hanging from though, how much grip you can get on it.
Just managed 1:18
4 mins is crazy ?!?
The bar is too thick ?!
Why are we competing to hang from a bar the longest again?
There’s not greater benefit from a longer hang is there?
It’s not the muscular/sinew pain that stops me on those it’s the pads in my southern dandy paws that becomes excruciating

Gardening, trying to make the front passable without spending a penny, so I’m aching all over today
