The over 50's

Much controversy in my household last night watching Gladiators. The female competitor in blue couldn’t finish the monkey bars in the final challenge. She needed a ladder to skip to the next obstacle. Yet still won. Outrageous. If you can’t do 5m of monkey bars then don’t do Gladiators! (Let alone join the Army.)

Wasn’t it the celeb one? I saw the start of it and thought that it looked scripted from the off!

So, we are concerned about the integrity of Gladiators now?

Come back CrossFit, all is forgiven!

Well tbh being able to do monkey bars is more useful in Gladiators than the forces; we do pull ups/walls.

I’d be bloody useless on that show and I’m sure I’d need a ladder as I’ve never been able to climb a rope (not that I’ve tried since school). The show is entertaining but have a look at American Ninja Warrior clips and see how strong and fit those folk are. It’s like night and day.

It was quite entertaining for Christmas tv though and I’m looking forward to the new series.

I see a fundamental problem with this assertion, and also a quick fix. Your welcome

Harder than monkey bars, P-company and Commando course both require a successful rope regain from a dead hang, including boots, weighted webbing, and rifle. You do get to do it over a water tank in case you need a soft landing though.

Does anyone else feel like their butthole is opening when they get into the aero position?

Wasn’t like that in my 40s. Doesn’t seem right. Don’t want my guts falling out in a race.

Would squats help or hinder?

Been checking this thread to see what my future might hold. I’m now thinking I’d rather not know :joy:

Not caffeine related is it? Caffeine on a long race or run gives me really bad guts, but not what you suggest :face_vomiting::joy:

I’m like one coffee a day, if that, these days.

Nothing coming out, it’s just weird. ..Or going in, I hasten to add.

Another reason to ditch the tri bike maybe.

That’s enough internet for one day.

I watched a YT vid on exercises not to do, and single arm db rows with bench support for one knee and hand came out pretty high. Risk of prolapse, it said. I wasn’t ready for the accompanying graphic
