First, who has a barbers with appointments? That’s a hairdresser.
Second, if you got to take the place of a no-show, why couldn’t neighbour Dave have your appointment?
Third, how are they so busy on a mid-week morning?
Ok, here’s my take…
My middle name is David, so I guess I’m a sort of 70.3 Dave.
I think Julie was the girls equivalent at the time, I know quite a lot in the same generation.
Anyone else find themselves getting more OCD or develop weird habits as they get older. I have this thing where I don’t like the neighbours to see that we are going on holiday ie going out onto the street and waiting for the taxi to the airport with luggage.
I am not sure why it bothers me so much. We have cameras set up so we can at least see who’s stealing stuff
. And we leave keys with a friend incase there are any big things that need sorting, like a water leak or something.
I am also finding myself checking the door several times before I can walk away. ![]()
Glad it’s not just me
I don’t do those things although the GF is really bad with the door lock.
But definitely have other weird traits, I’m gonna assume talking to sheep and cows etc as I run near them is perfectly normal ![]()

My wife is like that & I admit I tease her about her security protocols, but it does make up for my laissez faire attitude.
hahahaha tbf I always say hello to the animals ![]()
We go away so rarely these days, I throw a bloody street party every time an airport is involved. ![]()
Similar OCDness but I don’t ever get taxis to the airport for holidays, the driver’s all pass on details to the local criminals and rob your house whilst you’re away. It’s a fact (in my brain) ![]()
Hahahaha I get this - we always get the uber away from the house
. I’m so weird ![]()
especially the pretty ones…….![]()
I hope you don’t have your home address in the sat nav then; they’ll steal your car then go to your house and rummage through your sock drawer!
Door ..100%
It’s like a mental illness ..?!check check check ?!
Crazy
Holidays .. all the neighbours know I’m a pervert who goes to Thailand already ?!?
Duck em ..( they are all nice people really !)
My parents used to have a place in the Alps, when I stayed there I would video myself checking the door was locked before I left… it was the only way to be sure.
Last weekend I was away, ended up driving an extra 10 minute to loop back home so I could check that I’d definitely locked the door
Having 2 cars is useful too, as you can leave one on the drive parked up against the garage door in our case. Multi-tasking on the passive/physical security front. I have outside lights on all night front & back too; the one out the back towards the fields is a spotlight, so you’re effectively ‘blind’ if you’re approaching the house. LEDs have made all this much cheaper and more effective!
Or have nothing worth nicking and insurance
the other one for the GF is unplugging everything
my thoughts are that I’d rather it burns down while we aren’t in it.
Having said that I go by myself most of the time so she’s here.
The perfect ‘marriage’? ![]()
I think she’s glad of the peace when I go away ![]()
