Very helpful - thank you
They seem to have given me a 10mg dose
depends on the statin. lowest dose for mine - atorvastatin - is usually 20mg.
Same one as me - any side effects that you had?
None that I’ve noticed. Interesting that they “only” put you on 10mg dose - maybe they just want to see how that works before reviewing and don’t think that your cholesterol level needs to be brought down quickly.
In the Lakesman half today fourth overall was an M55, David Cunningham, and possibly his son a minute in front? Not a great bike compared to the others around him but a 1:27 half!
Clearly age isn’t really holding him back.
Up the over 50’s
Alex Dalton was 9 th overall?
Podium 35-40.
Bit close to IMUK….!
There was a guy in 2019 who trained at our gym… went very well at Bolton said his dad was very fast … I wonder?
Interesting looking at Outlaw half results. Podium in M50-54 needed a tough 4:35, M55-59 that dropped to 5:10.
Hope that sort of disparity remains when I age up next year…,…
It’s so hit and miss on the day, the guy at Lakesman went sun 4:30! Course seemed accurate as well and over 600m ascent on the bike.
First up, apologies for the vain question. And second up, apologies for asking it here, old fellas
I have always had fair hair but over the last 2 years it has started going from what you might charitably describe as “light mouse” to pure, snowy white a bit like Father Christmas. Not on top yet, just mainly at the sides around my temples.
I appear to be bypassing the grey stage entirely. Seem to remember this happened to my Dad too.
Now I wouldn’t mind going grey, that’s normal, but am not so keen on being proper old man white at the age of 48.
Has anyone experimented with hair dyes or is that just stupidly vain and effeminate. Should I just get a buzz cut? What’s the done thing.
Thanks old timers
Who’s admitting to a touch up …?!
Don’t think you ll get many takers on here Doc.
Anyone vain enough probably wouldn’t admit it, the hair on my head is completely white but I shave my head, like all proper manly men do.
Anything else is unacceptable once you reach half a century.
Perhaps take this to the DIY thread?
I’m happy to fess up
As I approached my fifties my hairdresser started to do it. Then when I left Worcester in my mid fifties I started using Just for Men grey reducing shampoo. Probably use it once a month. Basically it ‘takes the edge off’ so I’m left with some grey on the sides. What you don’t want is jet black hair which would look ridiculous, think Paul McCartney.
My next problem, which I noticed this year is that I am starting to thin. I am going to have to make a decision very quickly as to what to do about that.
I hate making decisions …
Hmm, I think you might be past the point of no return!
If you dye it now won’t it look odd when you go in with another colour, unless you play on the fashion card
Mine has been going grey on the sides for years and noticing greys in other areas so I’ve just accepted it. I’m probably one of the least vain people about, a total scruff
Embrace it, as long as it doesn’t go completely it will be the last colour change
It really comes down to a question of money. If you’re rich, and judging by your kitchen, pain cave and the fact that you seem to spend time in a plunge pool with Peter Stringfellow, I’ll say you are. Then you have a head of hair that is ‘distinguished and snowy’.
If you’re poor like me, you’re just a sad old grey git. Embrace the new you.
I was a ginge most of my life so going grey was a result
I am quite grey (turned 50 in June) I don’t like it but decided a while back just to suck it up. I had really dark brown hair and I rarely see a bloke with hair colour like I used to have dyed well. There’s a bloke in the masters group and his hair is dyed dark brown, it looks awful IMHO.
If you decide to do it then ignore the just for men and male hair dyes as there are generally 4 colours, none of which will match yours. Either have a professionl do it or buy womens hair dye as you are much more likely to get a near match and look like the old you, I mean younger you.
Haha yes that’s who it was in that photo - Peter Stringfellow! Knew he looked familiar
Think that was @Paul_L though, although yes the plunge pool looked lush.
See that’s how old I am, losing my memory ( and hair!’)
