Happy birthday @JaRok2300
Happy birthday!
Don’t forget to pratcice the phrase ‘That’s not music!’
and the added bonus of saving a fortune on drugs as you can achieve the same effect by just standing up quickly, or by trying to touch your toes.
Funny you should say that as I get that really bad, sometimes a double one where I bend over until it goes away then it comes back again.
I actually semi-fainted a few weeks ago, I wasn’t completely out but felt my legs going and ended up descending gracefully to the floor. My son thought I was having a heart attack or something.
I ended up in A&E back end of last year because of it… Mrs MC thought I was having a stroke as I became incoherent (enough at the back - heard it all before) before keeling over completely… doc, after extensive tests and 12 lead cardiogram, decide it was an ischemic something or other, which is a posh word for fainted… but did imply that a really well developed cardio system with good levels of blood flow, a hard run, with a little dehydration and a subsequent big meal diverting blood flow might have played a part.
What did freak me, was my wrist based HR data, when I checked it the following day, showed my HR momentarily drop to 28 bpm!
I sometimes feel like that under the same circumstances.
Happy birthday @JaRok2300, welcome to the club
TrainerRoad did a podcast on this recently and talked about this at length. One of their users has lost a load of weight in lockdown and become aerobically fitter, but as a result was now almost fainting whenever they stood up. In TR fashion, they did a ‘deep dive’ on it; was very interesting and worth a listen if you suffer regularly.
Glad to hear was temporary mate. In all my ops, I get the low pulse reading and they always say to me ‘you’re either very fit or very unfit’. I usually opt fr the former.
Officially joined the club on Friday
Wasn’t really bothered passing 30 and 40 but this feels rather more significant than the 2 previous milestones - still what can you do!?!
A few years ago after an irregular ECG on a company medical I was sent for further investigations - echo cardiogram and stress echocardiogram - consultant told me I had “an athletes heart” - my proudest sporting moment
Happy birthday
Stick at it.
Happy birthday! Welcome to the club!
Happy Birthday @JaRok2300 this club is getting bigger
Happy Birthday JaRok2300 and belated one to Tunster, as has been said, welcome to the club
55 coming up for me very soon. Just deciding how much of my pension funds I should cash out to spend on bikes. Return on investment would seem to be similar to a typical hedge fund at the moment!
