@mw22 that’s really helpful thanks
Does it feel stable and sturdy, even when doing intervals at say 16/17 kmh? Can’t see these old legs going any faster than that. It looks like a winner if so.

I never checked it, but there was a rumour at my uni in Bath that if you looked at the floorplan designs available in the basement, the 5 storey library was actually meant to be taller. But they forgot about the weight of the books when building the foundations.
The same is true of swimming pool lengths. Again, at Bath, the 50m pool apparently can’t be used for official LC times, as they forgot the width of the tiles they needed to add at the end when building it, or something. Pretty ridiculous that these things can happen!
is the mirror so you can comb your hair or tie your tie while on turbo
only jealous that is a fantasic area you got
Not really done much speedwork on it. My big concern was the width/size of the belt - preferring the more commercial sized ones. But it’s not felt small at all.
I’ll see if I can hop on it and do a quick video whilst up at speed (just need to sort body hair out first )
It’s for practising gurning during the last 5 minutes of Emily’s short mix
I didn’t think you made it to the last 5?
I did once! Out of like 14 attempts so far
That’s a good looking treadmill.
all depends on the strength of the joists. you’d probably be OK but a few £ to get a structural engineer to inspect it wouldn’t go amiss.
cracking space you have there - room for loads more kit - a C2 would be a good buy
Not sure the a$$ is ready for a C2
I’m going to have to get all this past the financial controller anyway, suspect she may take a while to approve the plans
Disappointingly… setting up a camera to record the treadmill will not only video my entire garage (which looks a sh1t tip from that angle) seems it’ll also record me in full flight!!!
Not sure I’m ready for such scrutiny
I’ve pimped my pain cave / office.
The TV, fan, and smart trainer can all be turned on and off via Alexa, as can the monitors, lights and desk lamp.
Here you go @NickBerry fill ya boots! (@AndyG @hillwall if of any interest)
Oh decimal thing on phone - didnt seem to peak much above 70 when I was hanging on!
Looks like theres some flex coming into the feet. Doesnt seem excessive tho
“Alexa, pedal my bike at 500W.”
It’s got an impressive level of flex in the feet/legs. I’ve never looked at a treadmill from this angle, so maybe that’s standard.
Brilliant. Really appreciate you posting that @mw22 , it looks fab. Just the ticket.
There is however something of the spaceship about your pain cave. Maybe a little reminiscent of the interior if Red Dwarf. Was expected David Bowie Space Odyssey to start playing on the soundtrack.
I mentioned it in passing to herself, and she didn’t say a flat no, which is always a promising start to negotiations.
Ps hope you Strava’d that, every little counts
Progress on the pain cave front. We have had a family WhatsApp conference to spec out the cave so I can pretend it’s not just mine.
As well as the turbo and the mill, the following requests have been lodged by the boys:
Bench press
Free weights
Yoga mats
Wall pull up bar
Climbing wall (???)
Wife has been ominously silent and I think is reserving judgement at this stage.
One of my sons claims it is obligatory for any cave to have this wall mural:
I told him sorry that’s a step too far. But he can have the yoga mat.
Must. Be. Done
